Rodgers Future In Jeopardy

If the Packers won’t trade Rodgers, I just hope they finally get him some help beyond his All Pro LT, All Pro WR, top-10 RB, 26-6 coach and top-scoring offense.

Sources: The Packers reportedly told Aaron Rodgers they were going to trade him in the off season, then backed off. It’s been a bleep show between them ever since. And within the last week Rodgers told the team.. trade or no trade I’m not coming back. Buckle up folks

Unhappy Aaron Rodgers says he wants to leave Green Bay Packers

GREEN BAY - After a year of attempts to mend the bridge, conflict is brewing between the Green Bay Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers before Thursday night's opening round of the NFL draft. 
Rodgers is so disgruntled with the Packers that he has told some within the organization he does not want to return to the team, PackersNews confirmed. Rodgers’ desire to not return was first reported Thursday by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. 
The team has done nothing to placate Rodgers since the season's end, including converting no guaranteed money onto the remainder of his three-year contract. The three-time MVP quarterback said following the NFC championship game he had an "uncertain" future with the team. Publicly, the Packers have stated their commitment to Rodgers remaining their quarterback for the "foreseeable future," an indefinite timeline general manager Brian Gutekunst reiterated this week. 
Behind the scenes, there has been a much different reality. President Mark Murphy, Gutekunst and coach Matt LaFleur each flew to meet with Rodgers on separate trips this offseason, PackersNews confirmed. The Packers also reportedly offered Rodgers a contract extension this offseason. 
A few teams reportedly called the Packers this week to inquire about trading for Rodgers, including the San Francisco 49ers, who on Wednesday were said to have dangled the No. 3 overall pick, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and other resources to entice Gutekunst into a deal. So far, the Packers have rebuffed any trade attempts, and they show no signs of changing course. 

“As we’ve stated since the season ended, we are committed to Aaron in 2021 and beyond,” Gutekunst said in a statement released Thursday. “Aaron has been a vital part of our success and we look forward to competing for another championship with him leading our team.” 
Gutekunst’s statement is the latest in a bevy of attempts to assure Rodgers the Packers’ plan is to retain him as their quarterback despite trading up to select quarterback Jordan Love in the first round of last year's draft. 
This week, Gutekunst said his plans have not changed. 
"Aaron's our guy," Gutekunst said Monday in his annual pre-draft news conference. "He's going to be our quarterback for the foreseeable future. We're excited about the things we're going to try to accomplish over the next couple years." 
Even though Rodgers’ contract has had no adjustment this offseason, Gutekunst opened the door to restructuring the deal sometime in the future.
Rodgers has said multiple times since last year’s draft his future with the Packers is now outside his control, a nod to the reality Love might develop into a franchise quarterback and push the MVP out of town the way he did with Brett Favre a decade ago. Over the past year, Rodgers has routinely denied any notion the Packers trading for Love motivated him on the course to what became his third MVP season.
Rodgers completed more than 70% of his 526 passes for the first time in his career last fall. He added 4,299 passing yards, 48 touchdowns, five interceptions and a 121.5 passer rating that was the second highest in NFL history, behind only his own 122.5 rating from 2011.

Publicly, Rodgers has mostly paralleled the team’s de-escalation this offseason, even suggesting on the "Pat McAfee Show" days after the NFC championship game loss he expected to be the Packers quarterback in 2021.
“After the season I had,” Rodgers told McAfee in January, “and potentially winning MVP, and we obviously made another good run, I don’t think there’s any reason why I wouldn’t be back. But, look, there’s not many absolutes.”
Rodgers signed a four-year extension during training camp in 2018 that made him the highest-paid player in NFL history at the time. The deal carries through the end of the 2023 season. With that contract, Rodgers’ only real leverage to leave the Packers is if he refuses to rejoin the team, choosing retirement instead.
If Rodgers goes that route, the Packers would be forced to decide whether securing some assets for a quarterback who will not play for them would be worthwhile.
Rodgers might have a possible second career aligned after future. He was guest host of "Jeopardy!" for two weeks earlier this month, getting a potential audition to take over the gig full time for his favorite television show. Rodgers has made no secret of his desire to one day host the show full time, telling McAfee last month it would be his “dream job.” If Rodgers is intent to move on, and the Packers are intent to not placate any trade, perhaps the game show could be his escape door.

MANITOWOC - Hungry customers have been asking: “When can I park my car and sit inside the Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen to enjoy my spicy chicken tenders, rice and beans?"
The answer? Hopefully soon, according to Marc Rodriguez, CEO of SmitCo Eateries, located in Springdale, Arizona, which owns and is building Popeye’s restaurants throughout eastern Wisconsin.

SmitCo has been on a fast track to build Popeye’s restaurants in Wisconsin. The development company signed a five-year contract a few years ago to build 15 units in the Fox River Valley area, Rodriguez said. They have locations in Manitowoc, Green Bay, Appleton and Fond du Lac, and are working with city administrators to bring stores to Oshkosh, Sheboygan and a second location in Green Bay.
The existing locations set sales records when they opened, with customers waiting in drive-through lines sometimes for hours to order a chicken sandwich. Manitowoc’s Popeye's opened in 2019 in a high-traffic area on Calumet Avenue, at the site of a former Hardee’s fast-food restaurant.
Popeyes has other locations in Wisconsin, including in Milwaukee, Racine, Janesville, Wauwatosa, DeForest and Fitchburg.

Understand this Aaron Rodgers thing has been building for a while: Packers fired his QB coach after 2017 season.. Aaron campaigned for someone else to get the GM job, went to Guetenkuenst. Then they trade BACK into the 1st round last year to take his successor.

Rick should reach out to Guetenkeusnst, just to send them spinning.
