Just bought a 2017 GMC Acadia Denali for my wife to drive. 35,000 miles. Super clean. Feels like you are floating on the road compared to her Jeep. It has all the bells and whistles.

I took my girlfriend to get her BMW back from the shop yesterday, and I was driving the loaner car they gave her and the thing was a beast (M340).
@"HappyViking" said:It's kind of a bigger CR-V, but shorter than the Pilot with the same V6.

And on trucks those MFers stopped making manual trucks. 2018 was the last year Ram made one. For 99% of yall its no big deal but pulling horse trailers through the mountains is much easier for this redneck with a manual.
@"BarrNone55" said:There was a pop-up manufacturer that I was looking at, but we might get a small Airstream now. Or maybe just rent a class B now and then.
She can shove her private jet up her ass. I beleive in climate change and we do our best to conserve but we also need to live life. We put the vast vast vast majority of the miles in our family on a corolla. ~36 mpg. We’ve owned that truck north of half a year and have less then 500 miles on it.
Buy any gas-guzzler you want (for now)!I trust all of you who truly care about the environment are buying your carbon-offsets.
https://carbonfund.org/product-category/vehicles/Because unless you are (buying off-sets) you're being....inconsistent.
I am in the carbon offset space. Drive a tesla
model 3 and been vegan for 11 years now.talk the talk because i walk the walk
@"JimmyinSD" said: So quick question...do all these electric vehicles makers have a universal charging system or are they being stupid and trying do their own thing like apple?I am looking at doing an addition and new garage and I would think a charging station would be a wise part of the plan but if they are all gonna be different then maybe not?
Currently, I can use the other charging systems but they are a very long charge time on my Tesla. That is why Tesla has it's supercharger stations that will give a full charge in 50 minutes. I bought the Tesla charging station for $500 and it cost me $500 to install all the electrical and access to my driveway where I park overnight. I have never used anything other then my home charger or Tesla Superchargers. There are SC in every direction of my home about every hour and I am in a remote-ish area of PA. Tesla plans more and more SC stations.
So to answer your question: They are universal but with different results/speed. Tesla comes with the adapters for any charging station which I have never used. Lastly, I don't know, and have not researched, the numerous other EV companies coming out?

He bought from a private seller. I remember him sending me a bunch of pictures from this guy's garage. He had a car collection of all kinds of vehicles. I think he had the Tesla as some sort of odd toy. My ex-boss also has a collection of about 14 cars but he buys almost all of them used.
I keep seeing all of your Tesla pics and even perused that sight. I do love that car.

They are nice cars. There's a bunch of them down here in SoFlo. Took one for a spin, the 0 to 60 take off is very good. ;)

Test drove one awhile back. 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. That'll blow dry your hair sufficiently.

Spent most of yesterday researching Tesla :s
@JimmyinSD you need to lock this thread :-)
Most Americans don't have any sense of the # of BEV vehicles that are going to hit the market in the next 12-28 mos.
From all makers from Europe to Detroit to Korea.
The issue is going to be range, charge time, infrastructure protocols, availability of infrastructure outside of West Coast and wtf to do with all those batteries.
God bless Musk for the disruption he caused in the sleepy auto market. I luv me some SpaceX too. He's bat-s #it crazy and a genius all at once.
I seriously considered a Model Y, but it was like driving an iPad on wheels for me. My wife didnt like it at all and I really wanted to like this vehicle as Tesla is subsidizing their leases at crazy levels right now.
I'm glad its out there though and for the impact it will have on the industry as a whole. More choices will be good for the consumer as product quality will improve across the board and prices will eventually come down. Down to where it makes easy sense to choose BEV vs an ICE offering.
And more options....Blasphemy to call it a Mustang though:

I dont know what was more impressive.. the video or the car :-)
All of the new models get me pretty excited about my next purchase. I looked at the Jaguar electric SUV when I was shopping around. I didn't like the one I saw when I was shopping then but everything I have seen since makes that one pretty appealing too.
@"purplefaithful" said: And more options....Blasphemy to call it a Mustang though:
If it doesn't have that deep rumble at idle that becomes a roar when you mash the throttle, its not a mustang, kinda like that shot they made from the early 70s through the next 25 years or more.
