Going to require a massive leap of faith to draft Little before Day 3

Jordan Reid and Ben Leber were big on Alex Leatherwood. I think they even mentioned that he'd be a good fit for our system.

The more I watched him, the less I liked him. Lots of standing around. If/ when we grab a second, sure. He tested way better than I thought he would.

Agreed. I wouldn't mind taking a flier on him in the 2nd, just not the first.

Should be played on a loop on the monitors in the Vikings draft room.

Christian Darrisaw: 95.6 PFF Grade in 2020 (1st among Power 5 OL)

Is he Minnesota bound?

Draft analyst/ex-#Vikings S Corey Chavous says there's 3 very top tackles not just 2 in Penei Sewell & Rashawn Slater “(Christian Darrisaw's) an outstanding prospect. He’s one of the top-ranked players on our board. If (Vikings) could get him at No 14 that would be grand larceny"

Interesting. I like hearing CC's take. Where's he been?

I don't know about grand larceny. Darrisaw's consensus ranking is probably 12-16 ish. Still, if i know the Vikings like I think i know the Vikings, they draft for need and they draft for fit. They would take Sewell or Slater if available, but the prototypical need/fit player for the Vikings is Christian Darrisaw. Run blocker, check. Outside zone reach blocker, check. Pass blocker, check. Requisite tackle length, check.

Darrisaw's only flaw is his lack of "finish." He needs a fire lit under him. But I say put him in a room with Dru Samia and he'll come out with his hair on fire. Maybe the best thing Samia does for this franchise.

Draft analyst and former #Vikings safety Corey Chavous offers this about Cincinnati tackle James Hudson, whom he identified as a possible third-round pick. “If the Vikings got him, he’d start right away,’’ Chavous said.

Vikings would be lucky to get Darrisaw @ 14 - a no brainer if he's there.

Should elicit an even bigger smile from RS than Rosenbaum could.

Leatherwood is vastly under-rated, I think he's going to be just fine on Sundays. I wouldn't take him over Darrisaw, and I'm no draftnik, but I know what my eyes told me watching Bama all the time.

Teams would have to pass on some pretty remarkable talent like Pitts and Parsons, the corners, the wides in order for Darrisaw to go off the board before we pick. But it sure could happen if we get UNLucky.

If Sewell and Slater are off the board and Darrisaw is on the board at 12, I'd bet my next paycheck that Rick trades up to 12 to jump ahead of the Chargers.

Leatherwood is an interesting case. Consensus scouting opinion is that he doesn't have the athleticism to stay at LT--that he'll need to move to RT or inside to guard. But what's funny about that is that his measurables don't say that at all. He's 6-4.5, 312, 34-inch arms, ran the forty in 4.99 and had remarkable jump numbers. Numbers that suggest a much better athlete than the scouting narrative. I also like that he was a 5-star recruit.
