The Opt Outs and Declared Underclassmen of Interest
Florida State junior DB Asante Samuel Jr. has opted out of the team's remaining games to prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft. Samuel (5'10/184) appeared in eight games this season for the Seminoles before deciding to opt out. With the Seminoles losing two straight games due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it makes sense that the junior cornerback would decide to begin his preparations for the NFL Draft process now. Samuel finished the season with 31 total tackles (1.0 for loss), three interceptions, six pass breakups, nine passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. Samuel projects to be a Day 2 selection in this spring's draft, and Pro Football Network draft analyst Tony Pauline has given him a third-round grade.SOURCE: Pro Football TalkDec 2, 2020, 10:46 AM ET
The only thing that worries me about Linderbaum is him getting shoved back by big nose tackles

Played both G and LT. Definitely a guy who should be on our radar.
I really like this draft. The more I look at it the more I hate that we don't have a second round pick.

Coastal Carolina redshirt senior DE Tarron Jackson declared for the NFL Draft.Jackson (6'2/265) caps off an amazing season with AP All-American First Team accolades in addition to All-American recognition from ESPN and The Athletic. The redshirt senior was named as a Nagurski Trophy Finalist and a Bednarik Award Semifinalist in addition to a host of other superlatives. He was the cornerstone of an excellent CCU defense, leading the team in tackles for loss with 13.5 and sacks with 8.5 to go with three forced fumbles. He is considered a mid-round prospect for NFL Draft purposes and could greatly improve his stock with a solid set of Senior Bowl practices.SOURCE: Tarron Jackson on TwitterDec 28, 2020, 3:38 PM ET
Florida redshirt junior DB Marco Wilson opted out of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl and declared for the NFL Draft.Wilson (6'1/191) is infamously known for his shoe-throwing incident in the waning moments of Florida's loss to LSU. He opened the season as a starting outside corner opposite C.J. Williams, but moved the nickel spot in favor of Jaydon Hill. It was a better spot for him, as he is much more effective in read and react scenarios as opposed to straight man-to-man coverage. The move also allowed the redshirt junior to line up closer to the point of attack where his ability to bring pressure on blitzes can be utilized more often. Wilson is ranked in the 10-15 range of draft eligible corners.SOURCE: Matt Zenitz on Twitter

Harvin 2.0. I seriously doubt he gets out of Day 2

Or trade down from 13...either way, I'll be shocked if we don't recoup that 2...I think this draft is light on top with a thick Day 2...
Two more juniors enter draft … A couple more juniors have announced they’ll be entering the 2021 draft including dynamic Buffalo RB Jaret Patterson and Stanford C Drew Dalman. Patterson led all college backs with an average of almost 180 rushing yards per game this season, which prorated over a 12-game schedule works out to over 2,100 yards; he also scored 19 TDs in just 6 games including 8 in one game! Patterson, though, is still likely only an early third-day type prospect as he’s a little undersized at just 5-9, 195. Meanwhile, Dalman who is the 11th C on the GBN positional ranking is also a third-day candidate

(See, I can give Rick compliments..)
Packaging mid-round picks to move up into the 2nd is a great idea, I just don't think Spielman will give up 3 lower picks for 1 higher pick. But he did for Cordarelle, so fingers crossed.
Purdue redshirt sophomore WR Rondale Moore declared for the NFL DraftMoore (5'0/180) is a somewhat interesting case, as essentially the bulk of his evaluation is going to come from his 2018 season, when he was a true freshman. During that superlative showing, the versatile Moore posted a 114-1258-12 receiving line while chipping in with an additional 213 rushing yards. He was on his way to similar shiny stats last fall, before a hamstring injury sustained early in the fall limited him to just four games played. This year the redshirt sophomore sensation only played in three games due to a lower body injury sustained in fall camp, recording an absurd 35 catches for 270 yards and a rushing touchdown. He has top-20 upside for next spring's draft.SOURCE: Rondale Moore on TwitterDec 31, 2020, 10:05 AM ET
Buffalo redshirt senior TE Zac Lefebvre declared for the NFL Draft.Lefebvre (6'6/235) only played in four games this season, recording 13 catches for 169 yards, 13.0 YPC and a touchdown. The Bulls were a run-heavy outfit offensively, but when the did air it out, Lefebvre and WR Antonio Nunn were the go-to options. He wasn't as efficient as you'd like to see from a pro TE prospect, catching 54 percent of his targets while failing to secure three of his 15 catchable targets for a troubling 20 percent drop rate. Though he possesses the height necessary to play in the league, he's going to need to add weight and work on his hands. Lefebvre will try to catch on as a late Day 3 flier, but is likely destined to be a UDFA camp invitee.SOURCE: Zack Lefebvre on TwitterDec 30, 2020, 7:40 PM ET
NC State redshirt senior TE Cary Angeline declared for the NFL Draft. Angeline (6'7/250) intends to play in the team's January 2 Gator Bowl contest against Kentucky, then focus on training for the NFL Draft. The towering tight end originally enrolled at USC as a three-star recruit before transferring over to NC State in early 2018. He performed very well this season, catching 27 passes for 412 yards and six touchdowns as an integral part of the Wolfpack's offensive attack. The redshirt senior was a very efficient option in goal line situations thanks to his length, while displaying an ability to read defenses and find soft spots in zone coverages that he utilized to break big gains. Angeline projects as a late Day 3 prospect who would be a priority UDFA if he isn't selected in the NFL Draft.SOURCE: Cary Angeline on Twitter
