  • Florida State junior DB Asante Samuel Jr. has opted out of the team's remaining games to prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft. Samuel (5'10/184) appeared in eight games this season for the Seminoles before deciding to opt out. With the Seminoles losing two straight games due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it makes sense that the junior cornerback would decide to begin his preparations for the NFL Draft process now. Samuel finished the season with 31 total tackles (1.0 for loss), three interceptions, six pass breakups, nine passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. Samuel projects to be a Day 2 selection in this spring's draft, and Pro Football Network draft analyst Tony Pauline has given him a third-round grade.

The only thing that worries me about Linderbaum is him getting shoved back by big nose tackles

HE will fit in with Dozier and Bradbury perfectly.

USC redshirt junior T Alijah Vera-Tucker declared for the NFL Draft.Vera-Tucker (6'4/315) is a versatile lineman who earned All Pac-12 honors at the guard position as a sophomore before shifting over to left tackle this season. He had initially opted out of the 2020 season, but opted back in after the Pac-12 agreed to a shortened campaign starting in November. When asked about why he returned, Vera-Tucker said “One of the main reasons I came back was to compete with my brothers one more time and further my education toward a degree. Now it’s my time. I’m ready. I think it’s time to take that next step.” The redshirt junior is considered a top-40 overall prospect in this year's draft class and one of the five best interior lineman available.

Played both G and LT. Definitely a guy who should be on our radar.

I really like this draft.  The more I look at it the more I hate that we don't have a second round pick.

  • Coastal Carolina redshirt senior DE Tarron Jackson declared for the NFL Draft.Jackson (6'2/265) caps off an amazing season with AP All-American First Team accolades in addition to All-American recognition from ESPN and The Athletic. The redshirt senior was named as a Nagurski Trophy Finalist and a Bednarik Award Semifinalist in addition to a host of other superlatives. He was the cornerstone of an excellent CCU defense, leading the team in tackles for loss with 13.5 and sacks with 8.5 to go with three forced fumbles. He is considered a mid-round prospect for NFL Draft purposes and could greatly improve his stock with a solid set of Senior Bowl practices.

  • Florida redshirt junior DB Marco Wilson opted out of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl and declared for the NFL Draft.Wilson (6'1/191) is infamously known for his shoe-throwing incident in the waning moments of Florida's loss to LSU. He opened the season as a starting outside corner opposite C.J. Williams, but moved the nickel spot in favor of Jaydon Hill. It was a better spot for him, as he is much more effective in read and react scenarios as opposed to straight man-to-man coverage. The move also allowed the redshirt junior to line up closer to the point of attack where his ability to bring pressure on blitzes can be utilized more often. Wilson is ranked in the 10-15 range of draft eligible corners.

Florida senior WR Kadarius Toney announced on Monday that he has opted out of the Cotton Bowl and will turn pro. Well, Florida QB Kyle Trask will be without another proven weapon for the Gators' matchup with Oklahoma. Toney (6'0/198) is the third Gator offensive standout to make the decision to begin preparations for the NFL Draft now, joining TE Kyle Pitts and WR Trevon Grimes. Toney started each of Florida's 11 games in 2020, catching 70 passes for 984 yards and ten touchdowns. Also used on special teams, the senior wide receiver amassed 1,439 all-purpose yards and scored 12 total touchdowns (10 receiving, one rushing and one punt return). Toney is projected to be an early Day 3 selection in this spring's draft, with Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline giving him a fourth-round grade.

Harvin 2.0. I seriously doubt he gets out of Day 2

I'd like to see them move some of that mid round capitol (8 picks between rounds three and five) and get back into the second round

Or trade down from 13...either way, I'll be shocked if we don't recoup that 2...I think this draft is light on top with a thick Day 2...

Four more players enter draft; two return … The flow of underclassmen to this year’s draft continues despite the holidays with four more announcing in the past 24 hours that they were foregoing their remaining eligibility and turning pro this winter. The latest players to announce include Southern California G/T Alijah Vera-Tucker, Stanford WR Simi Fehoko, Duke OLB Chris Rumph and Florida State DE Josh Kaindoh.  Vera-Tucker is a legitimate second day prospect who originally opted out of the season and declared for the draft, but then opted back in, and who has now re-declared. For his part, Duke’s Rumph is a late second, early third day prospect, while Fehoko is a third-year player that was expected to be one of the top returning WRs for the 2022 draft, but opted to get a start on his pro career. Right now, he figures to go in the 4th or 5th round area, but definitely could open some eyes at the combine and secure a higher draft position. For the record, Fehoko is a true, full-sized wideout who is listed at 6-4, 230 and had 37 receptions for almost 600 yards in 6 games for the Cardinal this fall. Meanwhile, Kaindoh is an interesting prospect that looked all the part of a future top pick early in his career, but was setback by a serious knee injury three games into the 2019 campaign and which continued to hamper him this year. However, he has prototype size at 6-6, 265 and could end up being a late-round steal if the knee comes back.  At the same time, two other top prospects in Michigan DE Aidan Hutchinson and California C Mike Saffell have announced that they will be taking advantage of the free season waiver and will be returning to school next fall.

Michigan junior LB Cam McGrone declared for the 2021 NFL Draft. McGrone is fitting to be a top-75 pick, if not a top-50 pick, this spring. For him to not leave, with all the coaching changes Michigan are about to endure, would have been a shock. At 6-foot-1 and 232-pounds, McGrone has fantastic size for the position and has all the athletic tools you want to see from a young Day 2 linebacker. McGrone played in all but one of Michigan's six games this year, racking up 26 tackles and a half-sack. Much of that production came after an upper body injury he suffered on Halloween, though, so it's possible scouts may be looking more at his healthy 2019 tape for his projection.

Two more juniors enter draft … A couple more juniors have announced they’ll be entering the 2021 draft including dynamic Buffalo RB Jaret Patterson and Stanford C Drew Dalman. Patterson led all college backs with an average of almost 180 rushing yards per game this season, which prorated over a 12-game schedule works out to over 2,100 yards; he also scored 19 TDs in just 6 games including 8 in one game! Patterson, though, is still likely only an early third-day type prospect as he’s a little undersized at just 5-9, 195. Meanwhile, Dalman who is the 11th C on the GBN positional ranking is also a third-day candidate

Oklahoma State senior WR Tylan Wallace has entered the 2021 NFL Draft. Wallace (6'0/190) played the first half of Tuesday's Cheez-It Bowl win over Miami, but the decision was made to sit out the second half. The senior wide receiver, who was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award in 2018, appeared in ten games this season and caught 59 passes for 922 yards and six touchdowns. For his career, Wallace caught 205 passes for 3,434 yards and 26 touchdowns. As part of a deep crop of wide receivers, Wallace should not be available beyond the top-60 picks in this spring's draft.

I really hope so - round 2 has probably been Spielman's absolute best: Rudolph, Kendricks, Alexander, Irv Smith, Cleveland...there is not a bad pick within that group. (See, I can give Rick compliments..)

Packaging mid-round picks to move up into the 2nd is a great idea, I just don't think Spielman will give up 3 lower picks for 1 higher pick. But he did for Cordarelle, so fingers crossed.

USC junior S Talanoa Hufanga declared for the NFL Draft. Hufanga (6'2/215) led USC with 62 tackles, an average of 10.3 tackles per game, while finishing second in tackles for loss with 5.5 and sacks with 3.0. One of the most versatile players in the country, the junior safety lined up in 21 different positional alignments according to PFF College, serving as a hybrid safety/linebacker for DC Todd Orlando. He was named the Pac-12 Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year as well as earning All-American accolades. Hufanga projects as one of the top safeties in the 2021 class and should come off the board in the second-to-third round range.

Arkansas redshirt senior DL Xavier Kelly declared for the NFL Draft.Kelly (6'4/305)  initially signed on with Clemson as a four-star recruit in the 2016 class, but was never able to gain much traction on the depth chart during his time with the college superpower. He closed out his Tigers career having totaled just 22 tackles and 2.5 sacks before opting to grad transfer to Arkansas this February. The Razorbacks will return seven seniors in 2021 who would have run out of eligibility if not for the NCAA's one time exception for all players who participated in the 2020 season. The defensive lineman played in eight games this season, registering eight tackles and two tackles for loss. Kelly projects as a late Day 3 selection in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Iowa redshirt junior DT Daviyon Nixon declared for the NFL Draft.Nixon (6'3/309) is coming off a standout season where he was the only player to be named as a finalist for both the Outland Trophy and Bronco Nagurski Trophy. Those accolades are in addition to already earning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors. The Iowa Western Community College transfer led the Big Ten with an incredible 33 TFL, including 5.5 sacks from an interior line position which tied teammate Chauncey Golden for the Big Ten lead. The mammoth Hawkeyes tackle is a surefire first round NFL Draft talent who is rated as the 10th best overall prospect by ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper.

  • Purdue redshirt sophomore WR Rondale Moore declared for the NFL DraftMoore (5'0/180) is a somewhat interesting case, as essentially the bulk of his evaluation is going to come from his 2018 season, when he was a true freshman. During that superlative showing, the versatile Moore posted a 114-1258-12 receiving line while chipping in with an additional 213 rushing yards. He was on his way to similar shiny stats last fall, before a hamstring injury sustained early in the fall limited him to just four games played. This year the redshirt sophomore sensation only played in three games due to a lower body injury sustained in fall camp, recording an absurd 35 catches for 270 yards and a rushing touchdown. He has top-20 upside for next spring's draft.

  • Buffalo redshirt senior TE Zac Lefebvre declared for the NFL Draft.Lefebvre (6'6/235) only played in four games this season, recording 13 catches for 169 yards, 13.0 YPC and a touchdown. The Bulls were a run-heavy outfit offensively, but when the did air it out, Lefebvre and WR Antonio Nunn were the go-to options. He wasn't as efficient as you'd like to see from a pro TE prospect, catching 54 percent of his targets while failing to secure three of his 15 catchable targets for a troubling 20 percent drop rate. Though he possesses the height necessary to play in the league, he's going to need to add weight and work on his hands. Lefebvre will try to catch on as a late Day 3 flier, but is likely destined to be a UDFA camp invitee.
SOURCE: Zack Lefebvre on TwitterDec 30, 2020, 7:40 PM ET
  • NC State redshirt senior TE Cary Angeline declared for the NFL Draft. Angeline (6'7/250) intends to play in the team's January 2 Gator Bowl contest against Kentucky, then focus on training for the NFL Draft. The towering tight end originally enrolled at USC as a three-star recruit before transferring over to NC State in early 2018. He performed very well this season, catching 27 passes for 412 yards and six touchdowns as an integral part of the Wolfpack's offensive attack. The redshirt senior was a very efficient option in goal line situations thanks to his length, while displaying an ability to read defenses and find soft spots in zone coverages that he utilized to break big gains. Angeline projects as a late Day 3 prospect who would be a priority UDFA if he isn't selected in the NFL Draft.
