Six games and it's not even Halloween yet...
Feels like we've already played 10 or 11 games to me...
I hate seasons like this, when you're out of it so dang early.
As a fan, you never want to root for em to lose, but this is the year to do just that.
REALLY hate seasons like this.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Kinda mindful of Les Frazier last year, future success seems a long way off and no chance for sb...
I have been watching a lot of other games. I have been checking out the OL and defenses. It's officially a rebuild, no expectations whatsoever. The draft will tell us more about next year. I am going to enjoy Jefferson though. We'll have to wait and see if any more trades are made.
Defenses have taken a step back across the league in this COVID season.

Oh c'mon now PF, it's tough to complain...at least within earshot of Cleveland or Detroit or a dozen other cities. I think the Vikings rank, what, in the top five among winning seasons or playoff appearances in the modern era? Something like that.
In nearly 60 years, the Vikings have had THREE seasons with more than 10 losses...THREE. 30 playoff seasons and 51 playoff games.
We still have a goal...whether it's winning the Super Bowl or getting the highest pick in the draft, it should still be pretty fun to watch the games, especially if we get to see more players like Udoh, Cleveland, Boone, etc.

Hey, I get to gripe. After all I'm closest to Wi.You want stats? 2 playoff wins since 09.
Sorry, channeling my inner NJ guy. And hey, I get to gripe now and then.

To make matters worse, this is still a team with a QB playing for his career, a player who has, and will again, get hot on occasion, the NFL's best running back and two very very good receivers. Unless we sit those guys or purposely throw games, and we won't do either, these Vikings could screw us all out of our hotshot young QB dreams by winning a handful of games in the remaining 10. It would not surprise me in the least.
To the credit of the front office, we haven't wrung our hands and approached this with indecision or lack of decisive action, like so many perpetually bad teams have done. It's clear to me that we have made a hard, specific decision that this is a lost season and we're doing what is necessary to get younger, cut salary and get the QB who will lead this team into its next chapter.
What I don't know is....will the Viking players cooperate?
No doubt the Vikings will mightily attempt to obtain mediocrity this season. Maybe just enough mediocrity to screw themselves out of a future QB...
There are prideful players on the roster and as you point out, some good ones too.

Yes, you do. But for a little perspective, how many teams in the NFL have had more than two playoff wins since 2009? Less than a third.
Lets do this week by week, shall we? I can see us picking up 1 more win in that 3 game stretch of Dallas, Carolina, and Jacksonville, but honestly after we lost to the packers this weekend they should be shutting down guys like Cousins to protect from an injury that would prevent us from cutting him after the season.

I would be stunned if they sat KC...I suppose they could always feign a high ankle sprain or something...
Somewhere in that Dallas, Jax, NC stretch you'll find another win too.

They need to find out if they have anything in Stanley or Browning, otherwise they should be pulling a washington and taking 2 QBs in the next draft. The sooner we get off this merry go round the better IMO.
So you think this team will beat Detroit? From what I have seen so far, I highly doubt it. In my mind that game is a 50-50 at best.

My thoughts on the next three games on another thread....@"mblack" said:@"Carl Knowles" said: @Jor-el: When do you fire those 2?. If they lose against the Bears in Chicago. My reasoning... 1. At GB. I think they lose. Big picture: LeFleur would have swept Zim in two years. 2. Detroit. We should win but very well could lose too 3. At Chicago. I think we lose. Bigger picture: Nagy would retain his dominance over Zim.We can't have a coach that can't beat two teams in the division. That means we have very little chance of winning the division going forward thus playoff chances will be hard to come by. That will warrant a clean house in my book.
I think this Vikings team could beat the Packers on sunday... but then I think they could lose to the Jets in the same breath, this seasons failures are more than losing a few defensive backs to FA and a NT to covid, there is something wrong with this team but I cant say for sure what it is. as far as the lions, i said they split with them so 50/50 sounds about right.

I have zero confidence on this team. I am not going to lie. I am excited with some of the young players but the Seahawks and Titans game just left me speechless. The lack of urgency is mind boggling to say the least. I understand it is easy for me to question that but still... :(
About your lions prediction, I am saying the Lions may sweep. That is how low my confidence is on this team

Ngakoue and his 5 sacks in 6 games are gone....where's the pass rush coming from? Next is Odenigbo with 2.5. Rodgers is going to have all day. Not sure where a win against the NFCN is going to come from for Minnesota.

And that really grinds my gears...Its soooooo hard to find good pass-rushers.
We have seen how they play after the bye, I see them getting blown out at Green Bay. Other than that, it's pretty bleak.

its pretty obvious he didnt want to be here so its hard to be pissed about that trade, a third this year is better than a compensatory third in 2022 after he leaves in the offseason and signs with the ravens any way. if you want to be pissed, be pissed that they traded for him in the first place and squandered a high second round draft pick for a rental player on a season that was doomed since march.
