Good bye to Mac, signs with Cincy

$4M for 1 year? I thought that Mac had a chance to become one of our starting (outside) CBs. And he would've (I assume) been able to make more than that. So... I'm really surprised by this. Why only sign for 1 year? The guy is a starting corner in this league. Hmmm...
So, they gave Waynes a huge deal and then gave Mack this deal? I guess I wonder why he accepted it honestly. I would have guessed he’d have more interest and would sign a better deal than this. Is it because of his knee?
Youre telling me we couldnt come up with $4m and 1 dollars for our starting nickelback? Guess we’re blowing up the D. At this point I hope we dont sign Griff and look into trading Barr.
Most likely going to have to take a first round corner now. Not really a fan of any of Fulton, Diggs or Terrell.

We can't assume Mac wanted to be here, would have signed here for as much or a little more or that the Vikings had plans for him outside of slot.
It will be interesting to see where the Bungles will play him. He wasn't happy inside.
All that said, I am really unhappy losing both Mac and Waynes...
I don’t know why this is surprising. He’s a nickel corner (3rd most
snaps at CB on our team) who’s trying to get a starting spot.
Its pretty obvious that Mac doesn't want to be in Minnesota.....this contract says it all. I don't think Z and Mac every saw eye to eye. Nor Waynes.
Well, this to me means we have to keep Ant. How can we not?

Nor Waynes.Yeah, I'm sure the Vikings were in on him if all he signed for was a 1-year deal for 4 million... I'm guessing he wants a chance to play outside for a year and position himself for a bigger contract. If he came back to Minnesota, he likely would be in the slot again.

Ok, looks like we'll have $20+ million tied up in safeties, Hughes, Hill, and Boyd as our top 3 CBs.
Honestly, that was my worst case scenario. Still a long way always from Robert Tate and Wassa Serwanga.
With the Eagles losing 2 OTs and signing Slay, they'll go either tackle or WR. Or, maybe we trade in front of them like we did with Cook and grab our preferred choice.
As long as I have been a fan of this team, I cannot recall losing this many starters in 1 offseason. It’s depressing.

It was CG losses...That was a lot of draft capital, FA capital too.
Go back to 2017 and look at all the really big D signings to make a run...How many left now?
I don’t mind Hughes, Hill, Boyd but injuries are too big of a concern. I’d really like an older reasonably priced veteran like we had when Newman came in.
On Mac, he wants to earn a big pay day and anywhere he can play on the outside it’s better for him than being stuck in the slot here. Personally, I felt he could develop into a pretty good outside corner when he came in, but the coaches were hell bent on the slot. Slot corners don’t command the big bucks so moving on makes total sense to me from his perspective. I would have preferred to have kept him and moved him outside.
Damn. This was a guy I really wanted back on the roster. Sure feels like two CB's will be drafted in the first 3-4 picks this year.
