OT: Coronavirus
Wow....
Yeah, DIA is never that empty. My goodness, this thing has really gotten ahold of people. But I suspect that it's going to make a far bigger dent in the global economy than the global population.
What changes have you made? Personally, I have tickets to fly to San Francisco with my kids to see my brother in a couple of weeks. And, so far anyway, I plan to go. But I have to say I'm a little nervous about it, especially with my kids. Not as much about the virus as how people are panicking about it. A flight yesterday was rerouted to Denver because someone, um...sneezed. And I am narrowing in on some ridiculously priced tickets to Cancun in May. Am I crazy?

If you've wondering why the beaches in Florida are open again

LOL. DeSantis was used to the N95 mask, with straps going the opposite direction.
Speaking of straps going the opposite direction ( :) )Maybe not the week to poke fun at DeSantis, when the gubernatorial "runner-up" Andrew Gillum (D), he beat from the opposite party, had an infinitely worse Coronavirus break time.

Well this is escalating quickly. In 24 hours Nobles county has gone from 12 cases to 36. My night shift supervisor's mother and sister have tested positive (I don't know if they work at the plant or got it somewhere else) so now he's getting tested and if he tests positive the whole cafeteria night shift (that means me) gets sent home for 2 weeks to see if we drop dead. Have a nice day.

China's Digital QR Codes...under what (if any) circumstances would you be comfortable with something similar in the States??
China is fighting the coronavirus with a digital QR code. Here's how it works
Imagine your daily routine being entirely dependent on a smart phone app. Leaving your home, taking the subway, going to work, entering cafes, restaurants and shopping malls — each move, dictated by the color shown on your screen. Green: you're free to proceed. Amber or Red: you're barred from entry.
This has been the reality for hundreds of millions of people in China since midway through the coronavirus crisis — and it could yet stay that way for the foreseeable future, as the country battles to recover from it.Relying on mobile technology and big data, the Chinese government has used a color-based "health code" system to control people's movements and curb the spread of the coronavirus. The automatically generated quick response codes, commonly abbreviated to QR codes, are assigned to citizens as an indicator of their health status.
Although authorities have yet to make the health codes compulsory, in many cities, citizens without the app wouldn't be able to leave their residential compounds or enter most public places.
Three months on, with the virus largely contained and lockdown measures gradually lifted across most of China, the small square barcodes have remained in place and are still ruling people's lives.

I don’t care who you are. Please be safe. Please keep the people around you safe. However you need to make that happen please do. You are worth it!

I'll bet it's more than that, let alone their peeps @ home.

Actually I'm not really surprised. I'd told friends over the past few weeks that once corona got to Worthington JBS would go off like a bomb. Too many people too close together with too much blood and guts around.
@"RS Express" said:in fairness, it wasnt her that caused that plant to get infected. its the nature of the business, lots of people in a small area. if you look at the rest of SD, its not an issue, just the areas where people get packed in on each other like sardines and nothing was going to stop that. I would bet your plant was more likely a local infection than something that came from the SD in the last week.@"JimmyinSD" said:Just got the word... as far as your outbreak coming from SD though... I see shit loads of Minnesotans over here so that stay at home shit isnt working for Minny like they think. If I am seeing them up here I am sure that there are way more down in the SFalls area.
Wait a minute... I thought Trump wanted the states to get their own PPE ?

there is now a black market to route PPE and other necessary supplies out of the country, so the feds are investigating a lot of things, including hording. IIRC this was at the request of the states that were having troubles getting it that needed it the most.
some wealthy people work with other wealthy people to use local hospitals as drop points for shipments that then get redirected out of the country. also private hospitals in wealthy areas hording supplies when they dont have near the threat that hospitals in more urban settings do.
I. LOVE. THIS. ❤👏😎
