• Springy pass sets (+ athlete)
• ++ Upside
• Strong hands/grip at the POA
• Huge factor in the screen game
• Plays through the echo of the whistle
• GREAT fit in a zone blocking scheme pic.twitter.com/wnTGIhWbeO
SAAHDIQ CHARLES, OT, LSU: NO. 69On the field, Saahdiq Charles is a tricky evaluation. Take his 10 best plays from every game, it’ll look like Lane Johnson’s film. Take his 10 worst plays and I don't even think he's draftable. I'm not sure there's a more up-and-down player in this class with a wider range of outcomes.
Off the field, Charles is a tricky evaluation. He was suspended for six games in the 2019 championship LSU season for what he called a "selfish and stupid mistake" at the combine, but the exact character of that mistake has been chalked up to a “violation of team rules.” Charles said that his off-field concerns are the first thing that teams which means they are a big deal because there are a lot of questions to ask about his on-field performance as well.
I have Charles as a top-70 player because he not only has starting potential but has high-caliber starting potential. I'm willing to gamble on that range of outcomes, but perhaps I'm only willing to gamble on it because of what I don't know about Charles' background. Meanwhile, players with higher ceilings but worse film (like Boise State's Ezra Cleveland) and lower ceilings but more steady film (like Auburn’s Jack Driscoll) are both ranked below Charles. However, you can't skew for what you don't know. With the limited range of information I have on Charles' projection, he's one of my favorite Round 3 targets.
His interviews at the Combine are going to be .massively important. If he's there at #89, we've got our LG for the next decade.
- Bleacher Report's Matt Miller reports that there is a "quiet buzz building" that the New York Giants could select Iowa T Tristan Wirfs with the No. 4 overall pick. At this juncture, Miller's intel indicates that Clemson's Isaiah Simmons may have the inside track to land with the Giants. But watch out for Wirfs. Writes the evaluator, "It's notable that around this time last year, the talk of Daniel Jones to the Giants heated up... " Miller notes that the difference this time around, of course, is that both Simmons and Wirfs are exceedingly logical picks for New York. Can't really go wrong either way.SOURCE: Bleacher ReportApr 4, 2020, 5:29 PM ET
Spent some time getting know Michigan center Cesar Ruiz (@_OverCees) this weekend. I asked him what’s so significant about playing center and being the youngest interior OL in this draft class.

His answer was phenomenal. pic.twitter.com/zNA7y9mvgh

So the earlier he goes, the better for us.· 2mDaniel JeremiahI talked to 2 GMs in last 24 hours and both believe UGA OT Isaiah Wilson will go in the 1st round. That’s too rich for me but it looks like it’s going to happen. Betting on the upside.
The #Vikings are trying to get a FaceTime interview in later this week with Louisville first round OL Mekhi Becton. TBD on whether it’ll happen. Hard to see him lasting until 22. https://t.co/JXhzZ56tJ8

@"MaroonBells" said:This year he showed a lot more effort/nastiness and finished guys when he could. However, that wasn't the case in previous years... I read an interview from him recently that said he made it a primary focus to show teams that he cared about football, has an edge, and wasn't lazy this season since his tape from previous years wasn't good in that regard.@"BarrNone55" said: https://twitter.com/i/status/1247209281168048128 Unlikely, but I heard one scout say that he's got some lower back issues and some sloppiness and standing around on film. Sleeper alert:
Kyle Hinton, Washburn, C
6-2, 295. Played left tackle the last three years. Projects to center in the NFL. 4.8 forty, 34 reps, 34.5 vert. Smart. Probably 7th round. 49ers met with him, so likely a Viking fit as well.
👀 @BigMyke_Hinton is a beast!!! Just did 34 reps on bench and a 34+ vert at the @KStateFB pro Day! 💪🏽🔥 https://t.co/z7jyMvKOFv

@"BarrNone55" said:dude is rising up boards quickly, very intriguingThe HBCUs, as you well know, have a great reputation for supplying NFL talent. This year isn't exceptional but I do like Alex Taylor (6-8 3/8, 306, 36 1/8 arms) the OT from SC State who ran a 5.22 40 at the combine. Basketball player in HS. Still a little raw but has upside.Quote Tweet· Mar 26Will WashingtonReplying to @Gil_BrandtHello Mr. Brandt, who's the best hbcu player you have scouted on film for this upcoming draft?

Lucas Niang is a name to watch closely. His tape is good and he has athleticism to go with his size. His hip injury prior to 2019 probably is hurting his stock more than it should. Could be a plug & play starter outside of the top 3 OTs.
This is a wild rep by LSU OT Saahdiq Charles, who is a Top 10 OT on my board. Extremely smooth movement skills and footwork. Great grip strength. pic.twitter.com/nvfm3hxRjA
