'Alpha QB', lmao. Who talks like that? That is such a B.S. unfounded quote from Fowler.....nobody told him that. As I mentioned in a post a week or so ago, KOC, local media and org. put out a fabricated narrative that Murray was rocking it in TC.
How is this even possible? https://t.co/LTBw1MAO9s

He has leadership qualities like a sheep in a wolf house. Absolutely all those reports were false about him tearing it up and knowing the playbook already.
There was absolutely, positively interest in Geno Smith within the Vikings organization prior to the start of free agency. Then the Raiders traded him to the Jets, and the Vikings signed Kyler Murray. https://t.co/LQ2jsJRitS

Are the plays that Kyler “knew” then the same plays as now? It feels like the gameplan is way different than the first couple Kyler games.
Also, I think there’s a huge difference between “knowing” in practice and “knowing” when some 300 lb freak is going to fold you in half.

Just like seeing the field in 7 on 7 vs when you put full grown men in front of a toddler.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
What was your favorite Kyler Murray moment? Grade 2 is 3 to 5 weeks.....and as KOC said his mobility 'is a significant part of his game'. What a swing and a miss here. 🙄
Vikings QB Kyler Murray is rehabbing a Grade 2 hamstring strain that will keep him out of Monday night’s game against Buffalo – and potentially beyond.

With the Vikings awash in QB trade rumors, it's amazing that only 2 months ago we asked if Kyler Murray would end the franchise's tragicomic QB history. Whew. In retrospect, former coach Brad Childress' assessment seems relevant...https://t.co/pT2hZnzwpR pic.twitter.com/2Xm73U51cA

Will Kyler Murray end the Vikings' tragicomic QB history?
Kevin Seifert / Sep 5, 2026, 06:00 AM ET
EAGAN, Minn. -- Long before he signed with the Minnesota Vikings this spring, Kyler Murray understood the tragicomic nature of their attempt to find a stable long-term quarterback.
Murray grew up in Texas but has been a Vikings fan since playing for a youth football team by the same name, and he remembers watching quarterback Brett Favre -- the 40-year-old future Hall of Famer in his first year with the Vikings -- throw an interception late in the fourth quarter of the 2009 NFC Championship Game.
"I cried real tears that day," Murray said.
He'll step on the U.S. Bank Stadium field Sept. 13 against the Green Bay Packers (4:25 p.m. ET, CBS) as the Vikings' fourth different Week 1 starter in four years. That only begins to describe the team's itinerant -- but often successful -- quarterback turnstile.
Barring injury or an unexpected level of ineffectiveness, Murray will finish this season as the 18th different quarterback to lead the Vikings in passing since the NFL's free agency era began in 1993. The only teams with more are the Cleveland Browns (20) and Washington Commanders (19), according to ESPN Research.

Generations of Vikings team builders have tried everything.
They've used four first-round draft picks to select quarterbacks, but three of them -- Daunte Culpepper, Teddy Bridgewater and J.J. McCarthy -- had their careers derailed by injuries before they turned 28. The fourth, Christian Ponder, was benched at age 25.
They've acquired two future Hall of Fame passers, Favre and Warren Moon, and tried to lure a third out of retirement (Dan Marino). Some of the team's leadership wanted to sign another future Hall of Famer, Aaron Rodgers, in 2025.
They've tapped veteran backups from Gus Frerotte to Matt Cassel to Case Keenum to Sam Darnold, and acquired three players drafted with the No. 1 pick (Jeff George, Sam Bradford and Murray).
"And probably the one that had the longest tenure and best career there was Kirk Cousins," said Brad Johnson, who had two stints as the starter in Minnesota from 1996 to 1998 and 2005 to 2006.
The Vikings lured Cousins in free agency with a fully guaranteed contract and ultimately paid him $185 million -- more than any player in their history -- to lead them in passing from 2018 to 2023. That stint was the longest of any Vikings quarterback since Tommy Kramer, whose final season as a full-time starter was 1986.
At the same time, however, Minnesota has provided a platform for some of the NFL's best collective quarterback play in the free agent era. From 1993 to 2025, Vikings quarterbacks have the league's sixth-best passer rating (88.5).
In 1994 and 1995, Moon doubled his career total of seasons with at least 4,000 passing yards. Randall Cunningham was an All-Pro in 1998 and finished second in MVP voting. Cunningham, George (1999), Culpepper (2004), Favre (2009), Bradford (2016), Keenum (2017), Cousins (2019) and Darnold (2024) all produced the best passer rating of their careers while playing in Minnesota.
As Murray looks for a career reset of his own after seven seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, he'll benefit from what Hall of Fame receiver Cris Carter calls the "magic" that happens when a quarterback joins the Vikings.
"When you come in here, regardless of what you've done or what people said in [previous] fanbases and everything, we're going to support you," Carter said. "We're going to put some dudes around and behind you. Dudes have career years and then their careers change. And I'm a witness to that. I know it's real."

Hopefully Wentz can stay upright between now and Game 17, keep the bone head plays to a minimum. The schedule gets a bit less daunting going into December and there could still be some great games at home for the holidays.
He doesnt have to be all pro with this team, and it'll be his job to keep (for this season) if he plays well. K1 may get some chances, but I'm pretty certain Teasley has decided he isnt part of the long-term here.
Too bad, I was hoping for the best in Mn for the team, him and me.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Basically, we need "Carson Dilfer" with priority on getting Jettas the ball.

There’s something fishy about how the Vikings and NFL insiders are handling Kyler Murray’s injury
The evolving explanations surrounding Murray’s hamstring injury raise questions about whether the Vikings are using it as cover for a soft benching, and a possible easy explanation if they trade for a QB.
There’s something fishy about how the Minnesota Vikings and NFL insiders have handled Kyler Murray’s hamstring injury, which has gone from what appeared to be a minor issue to what’s now being reported as a Grade 2 hamstring strain.
It wasn’t until after Minnesota’s loss in Detroit last Sunday that it became clear Murray had suffered a hamstring injury, with head coach Kevin O’Connell and Murray himself saying he felt some soreness.
“It didn’t really hamper anything today,” Murray said, explaining that he only played one more drive after sustaining the injury in the fourth quarter.
When asked if he thought it could be an issue for him moving forward, Murray said: “No, I mean, we’ll go back and look at it and obviously do what we need to do.”
By midweek, O’Connell had confirmed that Carson Wentz would be starting Monday due to Murray’s injury, which after appearing not to be too much of an issue – per Murray’s own words – was suddenly described as a “week to week” injury.
Where things get fishy is that Tom Pelissero reported Saturday that Murray has a Grade 2 strain that could keep him out beyond Minnesota’s Monday night game against the Buffalo Bills. It got even stranger when Pelissero attributed some of Murray’s accuracy issues to the hamstring injury.
“While the Vikings offense ranks 30th in offensive EPA this season, the team was encouraged by Murray’s progress before last week’s struggles, including some uncharacteristic misses that may have been caused by his inability to plant normally because of the injured hamstring,” Pelissero wrote in The Sweep.
Murray apparently tweaked his hamstring on a 9-yard scramble on the first play of Minnesota’s 84-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter. After that play, he completed all four of his passes, including a 51-yard bomb to Jordan Addison and an 8-yard touchdown to T.J. Hockenson.
Clearly, something isn’t adding up, because Murray’s accuracy issues against Detroit were before the injury. In Minnesota’s next offensive series, Murray completed his first pass to Addison and then missed on another attempt to Addison when he was hit as he threw on 3rd-and-5.
So, after the injury, Murray was 5-of-6 for 74 yards and a touchdown.
It’s also fishy that Pelissero is saying the Vikings can afford to be more patient with Murray’s injury if Carson Wentz plays well on Monday night. Why in the hell would they ever rush a player back from injury before they’re medically cleared to play?
“The injury – not Murray’s performance – is the reason he’ll be inactive Monday night,” Pelissero wrote. “That said, if Wentz performs well against Buffalo, it’ll be easier for the Vikings to be patient with Murray’s recovery.”
Make that make sense. Please.
Prior to Saturday’s report that Murray’s hamstring strain is Grade 2 – an injury that kept Caleb Williams out for three weeks earlier this season – here’s how it was described:
Ian Rapoport on Tuesday: “He does have hamstring soreness. I don’t get the sense it’s really bad, but he is a mobile quarterback, and if he can’t move like he needs to, then I don’t know that he’s going to play.”
Pelissero on Thursday: “It’s a legit hamstring, it’s nothing major, but it’s enough that if you’ve got a player whose legs are a big part of their game in Kyler, you probably don’t want to mess around with him being 80 or 90 percent. We’ll see how he progresses. It’s possible he gets himself in a place where he can go, but if I were guessing right now, I’d say it’s Carson on Monday night.”
Kevin O’Connell on Thursday: “Don’t believe it to be much more than a week-to-week kind of thing right now. But for him, his movement skills and the way he plays the game, we do feel like we’d be putting him at risk of possibly turning this into a more significant injury than it is by trying to have him work through it here early on.”
O’Connell literally explained that Murray could play as a pocket passer on Monday night, but the risk of worsening the hamstring and playing without his normal mobility wasn’t worth the risk.
“Ultimately, we could try to say all we want of like, ‘Hey, you can play, but you just got to stay in the pocket.’ But then football starts and it’s an imperfect game where he’s going to react, and we don’t want to make this strain any worse than it is,” O’Connell said.
Nobody is suggesting Murray isn’t injured. But the timing of the evolving injury reports, the suggestion that Murray’s struggles against Detroit were related to an injury he suffered late in the game, and the idea that Wentz playing well could somehow give Minnesota more time to let Murray recover are all worth questioning.
Is it a soft benching? No one can say for sure, but it certainly feels like it — and the evolution of the story has opened the door for the Vikings to keep Murray on the bench if Wentz plays well.
If Wentz doesn’t play well, Murray’s injury being worse than anyone initially thought gives the Vikings an explanation that spares everyone’s feelings if they trade for a quarterback before Tuesday’s deadline.

No doubt, some were all in and others were much more cautious. Kyler Murray was no sure thing, this is not Sam Darnold 2.0. He’s got inherent weaknesses with his size. He gets injured a lot. He’s not a pocket passer. And he’s not much of a leader, that’s always been the narrative. Lots to have questions about.
Saw a quote from good old Chili, he commented that a short QB playing behind 6’6” lineman is like “throwing out of a well!” Hmm…🤔
Had to be done, the offense was sputtering with Murray. Wentz talked about getting the ball to Jefferson which is important and at this point, they might as well play Wentz.
