I'm sure this has been mentioned but Kyler easily scores here if he just reads his block.

Van Noy definitely seems to be angling for a career in the booth after retirement. Strikes me as very performative but hey, he's performing so do you KVG! He's been a great pickup.

That was a hell of a block by Addison. Didn't see Jennings on the inside until now.

Although he hasnβt lit up the box score, Iβve been extremely impressed with Jordan Addisonβs perimeter blocking efforts.

Van Noy showed his intelligence in the locker room as well, dismissing the mediaβs urge to overhype the Vikingsβ outstanding defense.
The 35-year-old harkened back to 2019, when he and his Patriots lost to the Titans at home in a wild-card game after leading the NFL in points allowed (14.1 per game), yards allowed (275.9) and third-down defense (an NFL-record 24.1% conversion rate).
βItβs super early,β Van Noy said. βI still have nightmares thinking about 2019. That was one of the greatest defenses in NFL history, and we choked.β

Levi Drake Rodriguez draws two costly holding penalties against Colts
The Vikings defense forced a league-high 17 offensive holding penalties during their 5-0 start.
βI didnβt know that,β nose tackle Levi Drake Rodriguez said. βThatβs pretty cool.β
That number rose to 19 Sunday because Colts center Tanor Bortolini had a rough day against Rodriguez, holding him twice in situations that helped the Vikings win the game.
The first hold was a huge play. It came on first-and-goal from the 7-yard line with 33 seconds left in the first half and the Colts leading 7-6. Bortolini had the angle on Rodriguez and still had to grab him to keep him from making the tackle.
Instead of a 4-yard gain and second-and-goal from the 3, the Colts faced first-and-goal from the 17 and had to settle for a field goal.
The second hold came on first-and-10 from the Coltsβ 19 midway through the third quarter. It negated a 5-yard run, ultimately leading the Colts to attempt and miss a 56-yard field goal.
βHolding is part of the game,β Rodriguez said. βI think because we play so fast as a defense, theyβre going to have to hold you a lot. And the calls are going to come.β
The stat sheet says Rodriguez had four tackles. His impact was much bigger than that.

Brian Floresβ blitzes leave Dallas Turner unblocked against Colts
The Vikings have a lot of unsung defenders who fly somewhat under the radar. Edge rusher Dallas Turner isnβt one of them.
How then, Dallas, do you go unblocked on third-and-11, just five snaps after the Vikings took a 13-10 lead early in the fourth quarter?
βI donβt know,β he said. βI just execute the play. I donβt make the play.β
Turner said he wasnβt expecting to be left unblocked in that situation. He didnβt get the sack, but quarterback Daniel Jones had no time and no chance to do anything but throw the ball away. The Colts punted and the Vikings drained four minutes off the clock while leading.
Turner was asked if he can sense, see or hear the confusion being felt by blockers as they tussle with defensive coordinator Brian Floresβ blitz-crazed schemes, which sent five or more rushers on 86% of the snaps on Sunday.
βSometimes, for sure,β Turner said. βDefinitely. Guys look like they donβt know what to expect.β
Asked about Floresβ high blitz rate Sunday, OβConnell smiled and mentioned how teams around the league appear to be copying Floresβ schemes more and more.
And why not, says Turner?
βYou look at [blockers] and they might be pointing at someone, saying theyβre rushing when theyβre not,β Turner said. βOr theyβre not pointing at a guy who is definitely rushing.β
And that, believe it or not, leads to even a guy like Turner, who has 6Β½ sacks and more pressures than anyone in the league, coming across the line of scrimmage unblocked on third-and-long. In the fourth quarter. Of a one-score game. Amazing.
