Nolan Teasley needs to keep Jonathan Taylor from getting on that plane if this offense is going to stay undefeated. Make it happen.

Observation #1 in MIN win vs INDY -The Vikings won today and who can complain about being 6-0 after 6 games. But there was a lot to be concerned about (not much on defense) that MIN has to get buttoned-up ASAP on offense.

Observation #2 in MIN win vs INDY - The Viking run defense was very porous today, especially on runs up the middle. The DL was easily moved out of the way and only Cashman played any lane containment

Observation #3 in MIN win vs INDY - The Viking run game is hard to watch. It feels like a 1960s run game β just pound it up the middle into brick walls. There seems to be few plays and little creativity.

Damn, the Falcons beat the 49er's today.

Observation #4 in MIN win vs INDY - Blake Cashman was all over the place today and to me, he is the heart of this defense. He is rarely faked out or juked by a ball carrier and he covers on pass plays well. The Vikes do NOT win today without his standout play.

Observation #5 in MIN win vs INDY- Will Fries struggled today in pass protection and often was driven back into the QB. Kyler Murray is a guy who needs either a clean pocket or lanes to run, and he had little of either today.

Observation #6 in MIN win vs INDY- Murray does not get a pass today on his performance, as he looked nervous like he did in his first two games, and was uncharacteristically inaccurate. He has developed a habit of falling back when he throws.

Observation #7 in MIN win vs INDY - Will Reichard is now 36 straight FGs without a miss (canβt blame him for the block on a long FG). Love him, but it is sad when your biggest offensive weapon is a kicker.

Observation #8 in MIN win vs INDY - In limited snaps, Caleb Banks continues to show an ability to penetrate and make stops in the run game behind the line of scrimmage. He will learn the leverage in his pass rushing technique.

Observation #9 in MIN win vs INDY β If you are a Viking fan who likes boring offense, do we have a squad for you this week. Fans must be near asleep watching this inept bunch work. Hard to believe no receiver is open on so many plays.

Observation #10 in MIN win vs INDY β The Viking pass rush was ferocious again, but Indy found that using slants was very effective pick up the yardage on 3rd and long. Somehow, the slant pattern was retired in the Viking offense when KOC got to Minnesota.

Observation #11 in MIN win vs INDYβ Kyler Murray can run, which is a blessing, but we need him to be effective passing more than we need his wheels to win games. Not sure why he is struggling so much to be consistent as a passer.

Observation #12 in MIN win vs INDY (I missed one!). At this stage in the season, you start to wonder if you are seeing a Viking Defense that gets whispered in the same conversation as the Ravens 2000 and Bears 1985 teams

Observation #13 in MIN win vs INDY β In the 2nd half, Brian Flores really dialed-up the 6-man blitz and when he did, the pressure was immediate and it enabled his DBs to cover for a short enough time that no options existed for Daniel Jones.

Observation #14 in MIN win vs INDYβ Today was a lesson on Defense winning Championships. They do, but the offense IS going to be needed as this schedule moves to its toughest part.

Observation #15 in MIN win vs INDY β If Kyler Murray does not find a receiver quickly in rhythm, he seems to struggle to find any secondary receiver. A pro QB has to be able to find outlets receivers and receivers underneath when the primary is not open.

Observation #16 in MIN win vs INDY β The Colt offense was just effective enough to keep the Viking offense off the field. They showed other teams the old rule that a good screen pass game can beat a fast pass rush.

Observation #17 in MIN win vs INDYβ When the Viking defense guesses on pass on 3rd and short, and when they do, they leave big gaping holes for opposing offenses to pick up the 1st down. The one downside to the constant, aggressive pressure.
