Sloter and Mannion to compete for #2 QB job
#21
No surprise that a raw talent like Sloter, learning yet another offense, is behind right now.  Gotta love going from crafting the HOF bust to bagging groceries here on the longship.

I have the feeling Mannion was brought in for his experience at camp, that's really the only experience hes got.  Don't they put a lot of emphasis on practice tempo and keeping it moving.  Not just rookies and no big name vet, just a true practice body.
Its very early, but Mannion is getting the #2 reps in camp right now. The quotes from Sloter seem to intimate that he feels he plays much better in games and that's how he rolls. That won't cut it with a guy that's trying to prove himself and is an unknown quantity. Lots of time yet for it to flesh out however and its easy to micromanage. Mannion was a 3rd round pick, so there is latent talent there but he's obviously floundered so far in the NFL.

Zimmer has already stated recently that Sloter doesn't practice well.  He said Sloter's performance in real games is much better than at practice.
That may sound like a compliment, but it's not.  Sloter is wearing on him.  In other words, he's not showing improvement at practice.

I think he's the odd man out.
