Trump's racism no longer in question

Trump does stuff like this on purpose.  He says something that is mildly offensive,
and it gets people to react in the way that he wants to, for his gain.  The democrats are in full blown meltdown mode
and this only further continues it.  The very
vocal reactionary members of the left will continue to make themselves ugly and
call people names further reinforcing the moderates having to choose between
Trump and the pitchfork mob that is the vocal left.  It also gives more publicity for the further
left members of the democrats, while diminishing the moderate democrats, and as
long as the far-left minority is in control of the democratic narrative they
don’t stand a chance in 2020.  When push
comes to shove, moderates would rather vote for Trump or not vote at all, than
vote for socialism or identitarianism.
And in 8 months, this isn’t even going to be a knock against Trump,
because he’s got that Teflon quality where nothing sticks.

In 2020, a sizeable chunk of the left is going to stay home
and not vote, just like they did in 2016, because they no longer recognize
their own party and don’t have a party to vote for.
He sez some stupid stuff, but I am somewhat with you, it may be partially on purpose.  His twitter feed is the lightening rod that attracts the media while his policies are making a difference.
the first year or so I was shaking my head at his tweets and wondering how somebody could be so stupid,  but honestly I am starting to join the crowd that thinks he is doing a rope a dope with his twitter shit.   everybody is so busy watching his twitter feed they arent seeing what he is really accomplishing and that apparently works for him.  despite no major replacements for aca,  and the border issue still not being fixed,  he is making headway on other things that he promised.  I do think he needs either a wall deal,  or a major break through on health care in the next 12 months to seal his re-election.
If this site is any indication, it seems to be working quite well.

its easy to make wise cracks from the sidelines.  i agree with you on a lot of your 3rd party takes,  but I am also not naive enough to believe that any of those 3rd party people have enough clout to get the job done.  when a solid 3rd party emerges I will likely be right there with you,  but until then its plug ones nose and pick the least problematic candidate from those most likely to have a real chance.
...except it's not about clout, it's about pointing out that there are actual options beyond just "holding one's nose"...if one grows a set and actually tries something else.

Hell, just the eligible voters that stay home could change the country by going a new direction.

I think panic, habit, and stupidity/laziness decide the prez race...in fact, that's been true for at least half of my life.

Got it ...

So even a pastor doesn't understand how Trump telling 4 women of color to go back where they came from is racist?

When white people verbally assault people of color in grocery stores, or in restaurants, or on the street ... and the reason they are targeted is because the victims are brown, or Muslim, or speak a foreign language, or speak English with an accent ... and they are told to "go back where they come from"....

You don't see what's racist about that??  You don't know the term xenophobia??

Seriously???

JUST WOW.

Now imagine that person spewing the verbal/Twitter assaults is the President of the United States telling that to 4 Congresswomen, 3 of whom are born here, all are US citizens.

"Oh no big deal, I don't see how it's racist?"

Global leaders around the world are condemning this latest Trump attack and yet you guys don't see it?

Our country is so lost ... I don't know how to teach someone morals - especially a pastor of all people.

Really pumpf?  Of all the people, you really think this is how Jesus wanted us to treat others?

For shame.

I don't read much of yours for obvious reasons, but have to touch on this.
Pretty sure some of the behavior here has nothing to do with how Jesus wants us to treat each other.  And sorry, you and the left have no moral high grounds there.  Could say lots more, but will just leave it at that.

Deflect, blame the left for their lack of moral high ground in your eyes, don't address the topic.

In other words, you're going to accept racism because whatever someone else's side did and said was bad too.

Proud moment for the right.

I see that you didn't answer my question. What a surprise. Notice that I never said anything to agree with Trump in any way (in this thread), yet what did you do?  Make a personal attack.  Gee, here's another question that you won't answer: what makes your posts different from Trump's tweets?
By the way, I'm glad someone finally (sort of) acknowledged the difference between racism and xenophobia.  If anything, Trump's tweet was xenophobic, not racist. But, since that word doesn't really mean anything to liberals, I'm not surprised that it was the "go-to insult".
So, wanna take another crack at answering my question?
WHY ARE YOU CLUTTERING THE BOARD WITH THIS? WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH?

Astute post.

Axios (center, by journalistic standards) ran a poll.  The poll is not good news for the AOC squad +3.  https://www.axios.com/alexandria-ocasio-...dfdf9.html

If you can't complete the Wall...

As you sit there giving cute little thumbs up to people who claim they dont see any racism in his comments you are saying  you agree.

And I'm sorry you can't grasp the teo concepts of racism and xenophobia.  You ignore the source and it's track record:  Obama's birther conspiracy, all Mexicans are rapists and murderers, white nationalists are fine people on both sides, wishing we would get more immigrants from Norway ..

Why is he not xenophobic about Norway pumpf?  Why does he not show the same disdain for immigrants from Slovenia, should Melania leave too - she too was an illegal immigrant in NYC for years but no outrage?  What's different there?  Can you figure it out yet?  No?  When you do, if you do, you'll then understand why his comments show xenophobia AND racism.

Your willful, blind ignorance to his hatred is even more disgusting to me because you're the one who *supposedly* supports the teachings of Christ.   Your complicity with others to accept and marginalize his disgusting comments are appalling.  The right has been warmed up to his vile rhetoric for so long, they no longer care, or openly admit that can even identify it anymore, mostly because deep down inside they probably feel the same way ... and now our President makes it okay to validate those feelings.  We used to claim we have nothing against legal immigration, but now that we tell legal immigrants and US citizens whose parents legally immigrated here to go back where they came from, we acknowledge it had nothing to do with legal vs illegal, it always about immigrants and brown people, PERIOD.  Trump tells us It's now ok to be angry at brown people, yell at them, tell them to go back to their shithole countries of their parents, to get out of the country if you don't support the President, and Make America White Again.

Comparing me to Trump ... please.  I'm just another concerned citizen on a football message board.  I don't have a platform that influences millions, actually billions of people.  What do I hope to accomplish?  What a ridiculous question.  What do any of us hope to accomplish on a message board - it's an exchange of information and ideas.

One would hope that at some point,  some red voters - and a pastor of all people - would finally come to their senses and condemn his comments.  But nope, kind of what I expected sadly - acceptance, defense, and what-about the left is what I read.  So evidently he still hasn't crossed a line with the party of family values and Christian morals, yet now we are in full bown open racism and xenophobia to the entire world. The rest of the world watches you red voters continue to move the goalposts and lower your standards so far the bar is in quicksand ...

And yet we still haven't reached rock bottom for many of you.

Keep digging Pumpf, I'm sure Jesus is down there somewhere.

An exchange of information and ideas, huh?  Sounds more like preaching.  I'm kind of an expert on that... so I recognize it when I see it.  Of course, your preaching has nothing to do with God's Word... so it's really just you preaching your very own "gospel".  Based on your tact, I don't see you winning over very many "converts".

The rest of your post isn't worth responding to.  You are not interested in an "exchange of ideas".  People who are looking for that don't demonize anyone who disagrees with their own opinions.  They also tend to listen to the viewpoints of others.  Since it's clear that the goal of this post is to circle up the libs and virtue signal about how awesomely woke they are... I'll let you guys get back to your fun.
