Did I not just post with facts?  A well reasoned argument?  You post in response to SFvikes post was from mine.  Where have I flat earthed or antivaxed?  It seems to me that youre the one with their fingers in their ears yelling about everyone else not listening.   Please do post a well reasoned position as to why the economy has sat stagnat without accounting for the Federal Reserves actions?

Oh abd Fyi, Obama did get caught on camera talking to the Rusian about his “flexibility” after the 2012 election.
Oh abd FYI, https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/obama-more-flexibility-russia/. Do you not realize the absolute, complete amount of GFY hypocrisy on your part? Is your head buried in the sand? This is why it's such a waste of time. If you're calling that out, you can't call out the Trump admin?

Holy fuck why did I ever start posting on this message board again? I blame myself, in the long run here.
Ummm.....

Snopes rated that fact-check as "true".
(proving AGR's point)

Agree with MaroonB, I don't think you should quit.  You post with a sense of humor, usually.

But obv Trump's got you discombobulated.  It has to have been a tough couple weeks for ya'll.

Take a couple days off.

Take a local community college course, even.  Go to the pier and make love to the ocean.

Do you talk to street preachers too? Sometimes its best to just let it go.
Actually, I didn't vote for him.  And neither did greediron.

Oh, that's so cute (bold)! Thank you!

As for the Snopes article, I see it's true. That's what I'm saying. If that happened (it did) and people are/were upset about it... nothing Trump has done is similar? Nothing?

It's tough to have a sense of humor with this shit. It'd be easy if the American people all saw a mentally ill man posting 2020 campaign videos to Twitter using copyrighted music from The Dark Knight, but half of you somehow see this ass hat as a straight shooting trail blazer.

I'm no Christian, but as seriously as you take it, you'd think you'd burn a few calories on children that already exist and not just abortion.

Obama was spying??

There's been more proof of that, thus far...than there ever was for Trump/Russia collusion.
Even Democrat/Clintonista Mark Penn agrees....
"The most egregious anti-democratic actions ever taken by the what can now fairly be called the Deep State are confirmed with the publication of fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe’s new book detailing how the FBI and Justice Department plotted to remove President Trump from office for firing FBI Director James Comey.
Justice Department and FBI officials spied on U.S. citizens with false warrants, gave a pass to one presidential campaign with a predetermined investigation, investigated another political campaign on the basis of no verified evidence, and illegally leaked information on investigations. They discussed wiretapping and using the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to remove President Trump, and appointed a special counsel as a retaliatory move for Comey’s firing."

And finally now, we have an AG looking into it.

Trump and his team didn't actively seek out and  accept meetings with Russians?

The Trump Tower meeting?
Accepting a meeting with someone who claims to have opposition research is  NOT A CRIME.
"Collusion" is not a crime.
Unseemly?  Sure.  Both sides do it.   Criminal?  NO.

BTW... here's your hero Schiff accepting a phone call from Russians/Kompromat (LOL!)
Punk'd by Russian radio personalities.  (BTW, he made a follow-up call the next day)  LMAO.

Better yet, Flynn, Manafort and the rest of the campaign staff decided to plead guilty about their contacts with Russians because it was a hoax?

BULLSHIT.  and you know it.
Mueller himself reported (with 15 bulldog Democrat prosecutor underlings) that NO AMERICAN CITIZEN COLLUDED WITH RUSSIA TO UNDERMINE THE 2016 PREXY ELECTION.

Did Mueller entrap  peripheral Trump underlings in process crimes?  (lying to investigators, tax issues, etc).  Yes.
NOT ONE AMERICAN CITIZEN WAS CHARGED WITH 'COLLUSION' OR 'CONSPIRACY'.

Savannah ... brush up on the Trump tower meeting.  It was a setup.  But failed.

I don't support that (of course, your characterization of it is wildly misleading... but I'm not going to try to argue that point with you; I'm sure you have your mind made up already).
I DO support our laws being enforced, including our immigration laws.  And if those kids are suffering, it is because of the decisions that their parents (or their kidnappers) have made.  So what's the solution?  Let everyone in, who is willing to use a child as a human shield? You know, every time that a parent goes to jail, they are "separated" from their children.  So, what: if liberals started screaming about that, would you support letting parents out of jail- so that "families can be together"?  After all, it's all about the children, right? You want my answer? Here it is: If I had my way, the wall would be up... immigration would be regulated... and people would stop using and abusing children for their own benefit.  And I believe that that seems pretty consistent with my beliefs about abortion: that children are not property, to be used as parents see fit.

SF is too honest to answer my question about Down Syndrome (because he knows he can't give a defense for loving people with Down Syndrome yet supporting the extermination of them)... but you're alot more willing to engage in a conversation.  So here goes: what is your solution to the border crisis?

AGR,

Good post.  To keep this simple, yes I absolutely agree the QE shrinking policy absolutely plays a large role in the economy.

And to be fair the Dow is only one economic indicator of the overall economy.   However it's the most reactionary indicator and the first major warning sign.

As for how much the Trump tariffs have cost us, you're way off the mark.

https://www.inc.com/business-insider/tru...tober.html

Article here states US companies lost $6 billion on just the month of October 2018.  Bailout alone for just soybean farmers was $7 billion, but the loss of the entire soybean market when China buys more than 90% of our soybeans was far more.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/chuckjones/...porations/

Forbes puts it at $35 billion.

http://amp.timeinc.net/fortune/2019/02/2...e-war-cost

Fortune says $40 billion.

Either way, despite what A1Janitor and his supposed PhD brother might think, nearly every economist out there agrees the tariffs and trade wars are having the opposite effect of what Trump promised, exactly what nearly every economist predicted this result.

Trump doesn't understand this isn't the 1800's.  Supply chains are globally woven to minimize costs.  When you start forcing other countries to pay higher costs that has real impacts on sourcing and manufacturing costs here in US. We don't make everything here and never will,  you can't compete with labor costs in Mexico and Asia.  Those factories from the 1940s and 1950s aren't coming back.
So I googled "Cost of Trump Trade War" and the Reuters article was on top.  Honestly that is 100% of the reason I used it vs anything else.  After reading your articles, what I find compelling about the Reuters article is it brings up that $68.8 Billion is the total negative which is much higher then either of the two articles you referenced, but that when they net out the positives of the trade war:
“After accounting for higher tariff revenue and gains to domestic
producers from higher prices, the aggregate welfare loss was $7.8
billion,” or 0.04 percent of GDP, the researchers said"

We're arguing the finer details here but the Forbes article attacks the trade war as a pass through tax to consumers which I completely agree with.  It is also by farthe most negative about Trump in tone which to me is a sign that the author wasn't exactly interested in painting an objective argument.

The Fortune article through my best efforts doesn't seem to even bring up any positive impacts?

I also like the fact that the Reuters article is based off an scientific peer reviewed study conducted by "economists at the University of California Berkeley, Columbia
University, Yale University and University of California at Los Angeles
(UCLA)
"  Not exactly a place where I'd expect a Trump bastion of positivity.  So.....much to Kingbash's chagrin, some of us cavemen, neanderthal nazi, racist "conservatives" actually like peer reviewed research.

Any way it shakes down.  "Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics" is an accurate quote for this argument.  I'm sure you and I could go back and forth for days going through various different news sources but thats not the point.

We're both in agreement that trade wars are stupid and are harmful in the short run.  You're family member is a farmer which is why you keep bring up soybeans.  My folks are dairy farmers.  They've made 0 dollars since 2018 because of dairy prices.  Crop prices have hurt them as well.  Trump administration caused it.  Yet my folks would both say that they hope the short term pain will equal long term gain in this trade war.

When Trump brought up milk tariffs from Canada being 270% he wasn't lying.  Whats even worse is those rat bastards to the north have been FLOODING our market with their excesses since Nafta.  We had recently put an end to some of it by imposing a high tariff of our own and what did they do??  They INVENTED a new "class" of milk to get around it.  Did you know according to the Canadians there's 22 classes of milk?  We have 4 to put it in perspective.

My wife works for several Canadian grain farmers.  We were sitting down with cold ones chatting one evening 2ish years ago and they were laughing their collective asses off about how hard they've been screwing us for 25+ years in the grain markets.  They made their fortune on the back of American farmers because our .gov allowed it to happen.  They matter of factly told us they were surprised it took this long to find a politician willing to stand up to it.  Obviously they didn't want the terms to change but were prepared for it to become a level playing field.

NAFTA needed to change.  It was written to screw Americans.  It screwed us in every way shape and form you can think of.  Remember losing all those factories to Mexico?  Thats why they left.

If ALL the Trump bullshit.......and believe you me, there has been enough for the next 10 presidents combined....gets us a reworked fair deal with nafta it will have ALL been worth it.

By the way, SFvikefan you've actually had a level head here.  Instead of hurling insults constantly I feel we can actually have a real conversation vs a bunch of he said she said BS. If you're ever in TN I'd be happy to share a few brews with you and chat about whatever the topic of the day is.  Vikings or otherwise.   We obviously somewhat disagree on some politics but we probably agree on more then what most people realize based on this thread.

Nother gotcha!!!  That was from 2014 when who was president??  That nazi racist bastard!!!

Honest question for you Kingbash?  We most certainly are detaining illegals at the border.  Kids are among them.  Should we:
A.  Not detain the children at all?  Then what?B.  Leave them with the adults that have brought them over.  It has been shown multiple times that there is a sizeable portion that are sex trafficked.  Should we just let them go without verifying who they are?C.  Put them in jail with adults.  I don't even want to go down that road with all the problems.D.  Just let the illegals and children continue on against our laws.E.  Do exactly what Obama was doing which was detaining and sending them back.
F.  ?????????????????

What is your solution Kingbash?  Please educate us.

On collusion.  My wife turned on the today show this morning so I got to listen to it.
They obviously went through the Mueller investigation/Barr saying he'll have more ready next week.
What I found of particular interest is NONE of the Democrats soundbites had ANYTHING to do with collusion anymore.  Neither did the anchors.  They completely moved the goal posts.  It was all obstruction of justice now.

So my honest question is:  Have the Democrats admitted there wasn't collusion by omitting it from their talking points?  Or am I reading to much into it?
