Since Zim mentions depth, I don't think that applies to Gedeon who is technically a starter and showed enough to start as a rookie. I think it is more that there is no one behind Barr and Kendricks.

I should clarify, nothing proven behind the starters. We have had plenty of potential and even some promise, but nothing proven for quite a while.

i think that is part of having a quality veteran roster, you cant really afford to have those proven B level players sitting on the bench because somebody else is paying them to compete for a starting job. if we are going to have 10-15 million dollar starters we cant expect to have much behind them except unproven guys or guys that have shown that they arent able to play full time roles.

Their a reason why he said that....he's trying to send a message to a FA out there or a guy who could be one real soon....im thinking someone real soon because the player still on a team Zimmer cant talk about him or to him.

I've already stated that they should try Kearse at OLB. He has the length, little short on bulk, but he could get that if he worked out for a year. He's got plenty of speed, but alas, he lacks the mental ability to catch on to what a safety does and it may not get any better at LB.

He looks the part though.

The only way that works is if they decide to use him as a hybrid LB/S in a big nickel roll. Not out of the question and they've been interested in hybrid players in the past, but nothing has come of it yet. Kearse's best bet to stay on the roster is his special teams ability and he is arguably our best coverage guy.
