There but for the grace of luck or something could be us. Count ourselves lucky, because Spielman did offer Matt Kalil a contract when he was a FA and wanted to keep him around. Reiff has been a far better LT so far, but we almost acted like he was a consolation prize.

But what value did he put on that contract,  what were the terms?  Doesn't mean it was a real offer that would have prevented them from. Still upgrading the position with Reiff.
