Surprise players?
#11
Our needs are definitely on the OL, but we could use a "surprise player" on the defensive side - another piece that pushes an already strong defense into the level that imposes greater frustration and pain on opponents, building on our strength beyond what other teams expected. Good defensive coaches should produce a breakout player occasionally. Imagine if Jayron Kearse, Stephen Weatherly (or any of the young project DEs), or Eric Wilson stepped up the way Danielle Hunter did 3 years ago.

I don’t think it’s a given that we are going with Hill at RT. If he does not perform, Remmers will be back at his old position and someone else will be at RG. I assume the coaches want to see if Hill can do the job.

I am looking forward to Oneill.   The guy could be a weapon with the way he catches the ball.  RT reporting as eligible?
I wonder how much Zimmer will focus on rotation and keeping players fresh.  The additional depth will make a difference for the postseason.

...and that will be a very bad thing for the season. I think its very important that Hill works out and Remmers stays at guard. Its what the VIkings obviously want if they are declaring him the starting RG in June.

Ideally, O'Neill is the guy that replaces Reiff in 2020 and becomes his primary backup before then. He's got LT potential.

he is such a natural pass catcher and a mismatch nightmare!  Come on u got to be wanting to see him as a red zone target.  It would be like watching The Fridge rumble in from the two.

Ha ha. Honestly, I think you're going to get your wish. Collins and O'Neill might be used in more goal line situations because of that ability.

I expect to see Oneill in a heavy package for short yardage as a TE.  They will eventually throw to him.  It will be worth the price of admission.

ehh,   ONeill has a long ways to go to every make me think of the Fridge... ONeill has an athletic frame and looks the part... the Perry was just a blob.

I dont know that we will fool many people by using a former college TE, and 4th OT, as a tackle eligible and then sneaking him into a pass route.  Any DC that doesnt make their redzone unit aware of that potential situation against the Vikes should be working on his resume.

You know what would fool any team in that red zone scenario? Make O'Neill tackle eligible and then throw the damn ball to Treadwell.
