I dont either, but... at the end of the year, with those new contracts to take on.... if they decide that CB is the position of strength to take from, there could be an arguement made if Waynes continues to make strides this year. True but if Waynes plays above last year's play he will be commanding a contract worth more money Tha Rhoads if not the Vikings someone else will pay that based on the that so many teams need good cb

A lot can change in one year... I'm just happy that our first rounder sounds like he'll be seeing the field sooner rather than later. Our secondary this season should be ELITE if all our guys stay healthy and play to their potential.
We can worry about what to do next season when it comes. We'll still have Rhodes, Waynes, Hughes, and Alexander under contract. No need to worry about trading or releasing guys until after the 2019 season.

Yes, it was just in response to 87 saying we could lose Waynes. I think the kid really stepped his game up nicely last year and since he doesnt already have the name that Rhodes had made for himself before his new deal I think its possible that keeping Waynes is the better move for the future. A lot of variable left to play out this year though before we have to worry about any of it.
Planning for Waynes' departure? I think Mac Alexander is the guy we lose first. But both are under contract for 2018 and 2019, so let's see what happens.
Not to jinx us, but look at how the Seahawks were loaded with young defensive talent about 3 years ago...seemingly long ago. Odds are, someone on our defense is likely to suffer a career-impacting injury...someone is going to get full of themselves and insist on leaving via unrestricted free agency... We can't predict who, just be glad if we seem to have extra bodies in any area.
