I think that you have to listen to Spielman and Stephenson.
They said they had never seen a run on interior linemen like they did in the 2nd round. Spielman also said they had to take O'Neill at 62 because there would be no linemen available at 93.
Not sure how others read this but to me, it sounds like they were expecting a guard/center to be available at or near 62.
They misread the draft this year.
It is fair to be critical when you actually hear them speak.
I was not a fan of taking a guard early either unless it was Price, Wynn, or Ragnow and not even then so much.
But this team has NO right guard worth mentioning and the left guard is just OK.
They do have 3 good corners already and there are still some veteran free agents out there.
I think the people critical of the 1st pick have a legitimate reason to be disappointed.
Is the sky falling? No.
But it is more than OK, and healthy, to express your dismay during and right after the draft.
