The better question is: why isn't the Viking's organization Keenum fans? The fans aren't making the calls on who will be the QB, they aren't the ones supposedly pursuing Cousins.
Sticky, why do you think the Vikes don't like Keenum? Do you think they dislike Sam and Teddy too?
Those three QBs are probably the most often discussed QB options for the Vikes. There's a good chance the Vikes won't land Cousins. If they don't, don't you think they start looking at Case, Teddy, and Sam? If so, why would they do that if they didn't like them?
I guess I haven't read all of Sticky's posts on the subject... but I think you're taking his comments out of context. It's not that the Vikings don't like Keenum, Bradford, or Teddy... it's that they like Cousins a bit more. They clearly have a "Plan A" and that isn't one of our 3 in-house options. If Bradford, Keenum, or Teddy were Plan A, we would have re-signed one of them before the start of FA (or applied the tag to let us negotiate a long-term contract). Connecting the dots says one of those guys is our Plan B and ol' Kirky Poo is Plan A.
This ^
Happy was just applying Sticky’s logic to point out the fallacy of the Vikings not offering Keenum a contract so they must not think much of him.
If thats the case then they must not like Sam or Teddy either.
As I pointed out its not that they dont like them, its that there may be someone else they think is possibly better.

Jesus.....sigh. Its starting to get goofy in here if it needs explaining to this level. Its about who they like better. Its putting them in an order. Not that they 'don't' like a certain QB.
Are we really going to get hung up on the semantics because you don't want Cousins? Or think Keenum is being treated unfairly? Its all going to come out in the wash somehow. Lots of reports out there saying a lot of stuff and who knows what's true or not.
Who says I dont want Cousins? I think he is probably the best available. I am all for it. But I will support whatever the front office goes with.
Only thing goofy was your argument. Its a silly pretext. go read what u wrote. geez.

Cousins might be better, and if so I hope the team lands him and can afford to bring back Diggs and co. Diggs is going to be a huge contract.
Diggs' contract discussion is going to be very interesting, because I think he may believe as you do - that he deserves a huge contract. He might even think he should be in the WR stratosphere like Mike Evans, or at least worth 2/3 of Evans' deal, and asking for something around $9-$11M/year.
But I wouldn't give him much more than the deal we signed Thielen to last year. Based on what he has done, Diggs shouldn't get more than about $6M/year; would you pay him more? Not sure he will accept that, so I don't think he will get re-signed early.
His numbers are comparable to Keenan Allen after three years.

Allen got a 4 year 45 mil deal in Jun of 2016 when the cap was 155.27 mil. The 11.25 mil avg was about 7.2% of the cap.
With the cap being 177.2 mil this year, Diggs would get 12.84 mil per year.
Thielen got his new deal after basically starting one season and having 89 catches for 1,248 yards and 6 TDs.
I do not see how the Vikings can try to make the same offer to Diggs as they made to Thielen and do it with a straight face.
His agent will decline and probably laugh.
Diggs is a solid reciever but isnt a game changer. He doesnt command double and triple coverage. I guessed he would be in the $12 million range.
If he continues to improve and has a great year with Cousins he could pass that mark. It will make it tough to resign him.
Apparantly some here with a reading comprehension difficulties will instantly jump out their butts to the conclusion that I must not like Diggs. smh..
His is the only autographed Vikings piece I have ever owned. pretty proud of it too. lol

Yeah, that's just it. People seem to think that the Vikings have one plan and it's all black and white. They like one QB and hate the rest. But when you think about it, does anyone make decisions like that?
Whether you're choosing a college, a new hire, a vacation spot, whatever, you likely have a list of candidates. You weigh the pluses and minuses and you develop a plan of attack, but it always has contingencies. They may like Cousins, but only at a certain cost. And they may be perfectly fine opting out at a certain point and going with a Bridgewater or a Keenum...or even a Bradford.
My hunch all along has been that the Vikings were trying to decide between Cousins and Bridgewater. And that Cousins, because he's been remarkably durable for three straight seasons, is in the lead. Just not sure it's the slam dunk that some think it is. If the price goes nuts, I would not be surprised at all if the Vikings turn their attention back to one of their own.

All I am saying is that is where his agent probably is going to start his conversation. Wouldn't you?

Ya. That's the only reason Cousins would be in the lead over Bridgewater. I'm not a Bridgewater hater. I actually like him, but Bridgewater threw for 1,000 + yards less than Cousins and half the TDs. Performance does have something to do with it too.

I'm kinda hoping we "loose" out on Kirk at this point. I just hope we can still get Keenum and haven't pissed him off. I guess we'll find out soon enough though. Its noon here, not sure what timezone noon applied to for off to the tampering
