I would say Denver is in more of a have to win to stay relevant mode. The Chiefs and Raiders are improving and learning to flex again in the west and the Chargers showed that they dont need fans to win football games. Denver was winning the west when there wasnt anybody else really in the fight, now if they hope to maintain any sort of relevancy they are going to really have to step it up.

I'll say this about Cousins: the guy gets it. He's a good leader and can be extremely accurate. He'll be 30 before this season starts, but he can play easily for the next 5-7 years. He can be Drew Brees like with a decent roster. I think the guy is underrated and too harshly criticized. The Redskins are idiots if they let him go, I don't think they will.

Agreed. Just a note that the buzz in Denver is that they will trade or release Akib Talib, shaving about $12M off their cap. So they can do it if they really want to.

He definitely gets the short end of the stick too often. The Redskins not extending him and openly questioning his ability to be a franchise QB has opened him up to being harshly criticized. I don't necessarily think he is underrated since he isn't a top 5 QB in the league. To get into the upper echelon of talent at that position you need to win football games. But he is worth $25M on a long-term deal whether it be in MN, DEN, JAX, etc..

No question the Broncos want to add their hat into the mix but if he truly looks at rosters then the Vikings should look very very good. Maybe he considers Jacksonville if they move on from Bortles. Unfortunately for the Jags, they have to decide if they want to let Bortles get that 5th year option amount of 19 mil before free agency begins. If they let Bortles go and Cousins turns them down, then they will be scrambling.
I really cannot see how Cousins could objectively look at the Broncos roster vs the Vikings roster and think they have a better chance to win especially when the Vikings were one game from making the Super Bowl and most of the team coming back with plenty of cap space.

Paxton Lynch plays for Denver and was drafted in 2016 and the cost was a 1st and 3rd. They've tried to get him on the field, he's jus not good.
Patrick Mahomes plays for KC and is 1 year in the league and is pushing Alex Smith out of KC. He cost KC two 1st round picks plus a 3rd round pick. So I don't see KC in the business of throwing number 1s away.
