Wow.  That was a fantastic article...  it has to make you feel proud reading those quotes from other players and knowing how much respect they have for Brian.  But you probably already knew that.

He'll definitely be missed when his career is over...  not just for his play on the field, but his leadership in that locker room and his work off of it.

Be proud, Pops.  You've raised a great kid that's turned into a great man.

I think Brian will find his way into a mentoring role with Zimmer. I just get the feeling that Zimmer will keep him around in some capacity with his defense. That is if Brian wants to.

I would love to see Brian stick around with the team after he is done playing.  He’s been a great Viking, both on and off the field.

Remember when some used to try and argue that Ray was the better DE?  What's he doing these days?

You're probably right, Sticky. Lol
As for coaching, i agree with you all. He would make a great coach. I've seen him coach others in shot put and discus and he is a very good coach and i know if he has coached the younger guys on the team he would definitely make a great coach.
That said, i don't think he'd want to coach because that would take time away from his family time. He has said before that he may want to coach high school, but only if he could make his own schedule. He's already had an offer from his high school to make that happen. I don't know for sure at this point. We'll just have to wait and see.

He's a great Viking on the field, but you can tell he's a great guy off.  Players love him as his "96 Questions" shows (BTW, that Diggs not dating anyone's sister was hilarious).

His leadership skills are so valuable, and that's just comes from being a hard working, smart vetern player.  Zim loves him too, you can tell.

Be proud, Pops, your son has accomphed so much, and is a great dude!

Awesome article. What can I say that others haven't already said? BRob is a class act both on & off the field. A credit to family, the NFL, & society. You & the Mrs. did great, Pops!

Your son is a hell of a guy and both should be proud.
With that said, even if Zimmer asks him to stay on his staff? That would and should make Brian feel honored that a coach like Zimmer wants him to stay on his staff.
I do understand the family time and wanting to be home with them. I can respect that to the fullest.

I think they could have renamed the article "Character". And although I did not see that word used anywhere in the story, that is exactly what it's about.
Pops, I'm proud for you. What a great article and testament to Brian's upbringing and character.

I was kinda thinking that.  I can't imagine a player wanting to go straight into coaching.  Well deserved time off to spend with the family after he hangs up his cleats next to a second Lombardi.

Also, I think Tice showed us that there has to be a time of transition.  Hard for a player to go straight to coaching guys that were his brothers in battle.  Can't be their buddy and their coach.

But he definitely has the intelligence and the character to coach for Zim.
