Kyler Murray top plays highlights

I think the stat I saw on his downfield accuracy was around 25%, the top throwers hit around 40%,  average is 33%,  so Murray is considered below average on throws over 25 yards.

Elite Accuracy (20+ yards):
In his 2019 rookie season, Murray was ranked by some analyses as the most accurate deep passer in the NFL. He maintained this status into 2021, where he was ranked #1 in PFF grade on throws of 20+ yards, with a 48.5% "perfect" throw rate.

The Hopkins Factor:
His deep passing efficiency is heavily dependent on having a true WR1. Without DeAndre Hopkins, his passer rating, completion percentage, and yards per attempt significantly dropped. Without Hopkins in 2021-22, only four of his 16 passes of 25+ air yards were on-target.

I think we have one of those.

2019... you are bringing up a 6 year old stat in a league that the average player only lasts 3 years?  6 years is a lifetime ago.

yes we have a wr1.... but the question is do we have a QB1 that can hit him in stride to utilize his skills?  I havent seen anything that supports that in modern times from Murray.

Three years in a row. '19, '20 and '21. Deandre Hopkins was banged up late in 2021, then suspended for half of 2022. Late that same year, Murray suffered his ACL and missed 6 games. Murray missed the first 9 games of 2023 with the same injury. Murray's best weapon in 2023 was his TE, so not a deep receiver. In 2024, they drafted Marvin Harrison Jr, who has been objectively terrible.

Lou got mad on X with fans arguing that Kyler gets a ton of passes batted down. He doesn't.

that was something I never understood about KC,  he was a veteran QB,  didnt typically lock in on a guy and stare him down like rookies do,  but damn if he didnt get swatted a lot.  only thing more frustrating than that is not seeing our OL put the defenders that go arms up and leave their feet on their asses.  when a defender goes for the block they lose all leverage and should always be put on their asses as a result.... very rarely do we see our OL finish them like they should.

I saw that out of Darrisaw back when he was healthy...But yah, overall they are historically not the punchiest, fiestiest group trotted out to play.

Looking at his video highlights in AZ, I do not recall ever having a QB in a Viking uniform with that kind of electric running ability. Do you? I recall Randall Cunningham in '98 but he was more of a long strider.
