Geno is guaranteed $18.5m by the Raiders in 2026. If the Raiders keep him, it will cost them an additional $7.5m (2026 base salary). Since the Raiders are on the hook for $18.5m anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if they kept Geno just to give Mendoza time to get acclimated.
Falcons did something similar to Cousins last year.

Thats a very good point...I dont know what their cap situation is, but if I were the Raiders? I would absolutely keep Gino for another year and give Mendoza time to marinate and get acclimated to pro ball.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Big trade:

Sources: Chiefs trade Trent McDuffie to Rams for four draft picks

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/4810...raft-picks

The Los Angeles Chargers plan to release guard Mekhi Becton in a move that will save them $9.7 million against the salary cap, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Becton struggled last season after joining the Chargers on a two-year, $20 million deal last March. The six-year veteran battled injuries throughout the season and voiced his frustration with the Chargers at one point last November.

Chargers general manager Joe Hortiz had to decide quickly on Becton, who was due a $2.5 million roster bonus on March 13 and another $1 million bonus on March 15.

strong move by Rams...

Not sure of the rationale for KC other than cap?

All pro corners dont grow on trees and their window aint shut yet.

It does but also, they got a HAUL from the Rams. Should be fairly easy for KC to maneuver around the draft board to get whoever they want after say, pick 5. Jerimyah Love would be something.

Your pivot off Kirk and Rodgers has been swift but commendable. If he's available, Geno would be my backup plan if we can't cheaply get Carr. I'm still out on Murray.

they draft well enough and seem to get them in the middle rounds quite regularly.  They are looking at adding cap for Dline/LB spending.

Saw rumor today that Vikes are trying to free up cap space to make an offer to Daniel Jones, long shot since Indy can come back and match offer, also do not think they could free up that much space.
