I don't disagree in most drafts but unlike last year, this year's draft doesn't project to have a lot of elite RB talent. If you also take into consideration that Mason will still be on the roster next season & that we're going to be looking at an RB more in line with Jones skillset, that narrows the field even further.

Agree. I was much more excited about taking a running back from last year's class. This year things have changed. I wouldn't be upset with a Love pick, but I don't think he's quite on the level of Ashton Jeanty. I could change my mind though. There are backs like Coleman and Singleton on day two that might have better value. I would prefer ILB, CB or S. We have two good starters at CB in Murphy and Rodgers. It's CB3 and 4 where we're weak. We can probably get another year out of Eric Wilson at ILB, so that leaves a big, glaring hole at Safety IMO. The big kid from last year, Emmanwori is getting DROY buzz.

Top Potential 2026 Running Back Free Agents: Breece Hall (New York Jets): A dynamic, young back expected to be a top target. Kenneth Walker III (Seattle Seahawks): Another high-performing young star available. Javonte Williams (Dallas Cowboys): A powerful runner with great potential. Travis Etienne Jr. (Jacksonville Jaguars): A proven playmaker with significant upside. Kyren Williams (Los Angeles Rams): A standout performer who could command big money. Isiah Pacheco (Kansas City Chiefs): A key part of a Super Bowl team, very productive. Najee Harris (Houston Texans): A former first-rounder with injury history but high ceiling. James Cook (Buffalo Bills): An explosive, versatile back in a great offense. Rachaad White (Tampa Bay Buccaneers): A workhorse who could also hit the market. Rico Dowdle (Carolina Panthers): A rising starter with potential.

Kyren Williams signed a 3 year contract extension during the season with the Rams. Najee Harris is hurt again with the Chargers on a one year deal. James Cook also signed a 4 year extension with the Bills.

Not sure what changed, but it kind of points to the system, not the player. Similar with Pacheco and Kyren Williams, are they just a product of the system? Not sold on any back out of Seattle in recent years. They all are "special" until they are not. |
