Might do him good in the long-run, depending on the circumstances.
He tends to play better on the road, so there is that going into this week. But it wont be easy in Lamblow and I hope the OL brings their A Game.
I tend to agree, if the kid is a much of a gamer as Sticky has professed and he is ruined by a mental timeout, then I question his mental strength to begin with and typically mentally weak people dont make good leaders in the long run ( or great QBs)

At this point, one thought keeps creeping in my head as a worry. Considering Kwesi's stellar drafting prowess so far, could McCarthy be another draft bust? I believe in KOC as far as QB Rehab School. Say what you want, but Darnold was 1 stop away from the scrap heap and KOC has a very big hand in that resurrection. I also have to wonder, maybe KOC has more of a say so in the draft room that we think, and maybe HE is part of the draft failures as well. Is it possible that KOC is a QB Whisperer and a shitty drafter along with Kwesi?
I don't think we know the answer to this and many other questions for a bit longer (I say you give McCarthy this year and all of 26 before you declare him a bust), but it has creeped in to my thoughts.

By 10 they had their choice of Nix or JJM...Nix is finally starting to show some promise and I just cant compare the two yet given the disparity of play time.
Then we got BFlo and his influence as well...I suspect strongly that Turner is a Viking today based on input from him.

He should have 3 game winning drives in 5 starts, so yeah he's obviously a gamer.

Then, like I said, I dont see a little time on the bench ruining his chances for a better future in MN as you have suggested. If he was a mental case then yes, but I see it more as a chance to refocus and let that chip grow a bit, not a career ending shot to his confidence.

With few exceptions (and those are notorious), every draft decision for every team ever is a group decision that involves GM, scouting staff and coaches.

I am well aware, but this team has Grigson's fingerprints all over it. If you look at the 2015 Indianapolis Colts, the similarities here are astonishing.

Well, a constant slew of coaches, players, and analysts all point to the need for continuous reps after this start-stop-start-stop-start beginning to his career, I'd side with them in that he needs actual NFL experience, not just more study time that obviously hasn't been a great boon to his growth.
We need JJM to season, ASAFP....

Well he's better than Shedeur Sanders so there's that lol.
But to answer a previous poster, yes he could bust, anyone can. He's in Zach Wilson territory right now but even Milf Hunter Zachary got a couple of years. Any guy drafted top ten is going get time while the team keeps hope alive and the fans do stuff like demanding an appearance by Max Gopher. Because hey, FAFO!
