Trade Deadline

My gut says his production drop-off is how he is being used as much or more than anything. Might be plenty of gas in tank and burst in the step. We're just not privy to it much.

It’s possible, but man, he looks like he’s running in slow motion half the time.  By the time he finishes his route and turns his head, the ball’s already in the next zip code.  He’s out there moving like he’s in a race with a sloth...and losing.  His hands look like they’ve got lead weights strapped on; every catch attempt feels a second late.  That diving end zone grab was the only flash of vintage TJ we’ve seen all season.

It's entirely possible the Kirby Joseph cheap shot to the knee a couple years ago took away some of his overall speed and quickness. It's also possible that our problems on offense that have hampered everyone else have effected him and his overall production.

On that note, if any of our lineman want to go low on Kirby Joseph on Sunday, it sure would put a smile on my face.

Kirby is a DNP for two days straight with a knee.  Likely not going to play?

@AlbertBreer
says the Vikings are BUYERS and not sellers with the trade deadline coming up on Tuesday.

Breer says the Vikings are specially looking for a CB.

In the summer I thought it was possible the Vikings could make a move for Sauce Gardner if the Jets were terrible, the Vikings were headed for the playoffs and Sauce was still on his rookie contract. Only one of those things is definitely true.

Another corner the Vikings have been tied to in the past is Greg Newsome. But that seems unlikely with the Jags having a better record than the Vikings.

Kidding yourselves into thinking Jeff Okudah could play is the sort of thing that could have you looking to acquire a cb at the deadline.

I would think they are going to see how Sunday plays out first, unless JJ has a miraculous turnaround, I just would not see how it would make sense to be buyers.

Another position the Vikings might look at is center, but I think that only happens if Kelly intends to retire. Priority #1 for the Vikings is protecting the largest investment they've ever made at the QB position. I don't think you want to go deep into the season wondering how McCarthy might have played given better protection. They have to eliminate those questions to get clarity on McCarthy.
