Gotcha

lol, wait.....there's an alternative 'narrative' to Dallas Turner sucks?

Well at least he showed up with a personal foul and jumping offsides.

8 solo tackles
1 sack
0 forced fumbles
He also has 3.5 tackles for loss and 1 interception
When I watch the kid in isolation, he's pretty much out of the play once the OT gets their hands on him...But it also makes me wonder if BFlo is using the kid right or not?
I look back at Doleman:
1985: 0 sacks
1986: 3 sacks
1987: 11 sacks
1988: 8 sacks
1989: 21 sacks
If memory serves me right, Doleman was asked to play LB his first 2 years? It wasnt till 87 when he was moved to DE in the 4/3 scheme.
Again I ask, is BFlo using Turner correctly??? That said, I dont think he's the guy for a 3/4 DE...I'm not sure he's an ILB type/size?
Its way too early to call him a bust, but he is (for me at least) a disappointment.
Pretend it’s the middle of 1986… you guys bagging Doleman too?
It typically takes a beat with Edge guys, especially with someone as young as Turner.
As previously mentioned, Turner isn’t being used to his strengths sitting in the Ginks role. Traits are all there, it’s just going to take a bit until he isn’t thinking as much and is anticipating and reacting.

He’s not explosive that’s obvious, but it’s too early to say he will not be a solid starter

Could be. But Dallas Turner has played 22 NFL games, we are still waiting and as you mention 'it might take a beat'. Yet JJM has played in 2 games and its JJ 'Hope he's not Josh Rosen' McCarthy.....doesn't seem exactly equitable, right?
We've all got our narratives.

Definitely might take a beat. Just like Doleman.
Being on the field is kinda important, no?
To date, JJ can’t even play.
Inauspicious start to say the least.

You give up that kinda draft capital for a guy who's going to make you go wow from the git-go. And frankly, I can't recall anyone giving up that kind of draft capital and getting a real return ever, it's generally a fool's errand.
But giving it up for a guy who people now are making excuses for in year two is just kind of indicative of where this will probably end up - in the dumpster like most of KAM's picks. Yeah I realize he's young and could still find something, or maybe I'm just supposed to buy the bullshit from twitter in perpetuity, but meantime I don't see much there.

This ^
The guy has played 22 games, lol....and still some are waiting for that egg to hatch. KAM gave up a bunch to get him and he's playing like a penny stock.

Immediate is fair, but I would add that for a 17th pick, if he turns into a solid starter at any point you have done fine. Ultimately the value of a 17th is what they paid.

And that’s the thing, he tests explosive, but I’m not seeing it on the field. Could be for the very reason you state, and I agree with you on that. On the positive I do see the speed, strength and some bend. He needs to be a solid starter at least and I think he will be that eventually. Perfectly fine for a 17th pick.
