I think that's a stretch. He's come in twice now in mop up duty and hasn't stood out. He's still a rookie learning a complex offense.
I like Brosmer's upside, but I find it laughable how many have moved on from JJ McCarthy already. Vikings like both guys, but JJ is more physically talented and has the leadership and intangibles you look for in a franchise guy. Maybe Brosmer has those too, but the team is invested in JJ McCarthy, his teammates love him, and he's going to get a shot to prove everyone right. Fans are weird.

It was cruel for them to keep putting Wentz back out there when he was obviously injured and in great pain. It wasn't like the game was close and you felt like you preferred to have a veteran in the close game. Once the game was out of reach there was no reason to keep carting Wentz back on the field.

I think it for sure played a role last night. The team believes McCarthy is better than Brosmer. They’re probably 99% confident in that belief. So putting Brosmer in to pop warner his way to some stats against a defense that’s already packed it in for the night is only going to further stir up the fandom hornets nest. I’d have done the same the KO did, especially once things were out reach. That said after last night, Wentz can’t start again for us or people will lose their minds. Detroit game should be either McCarthy (hopefully, finally) or Brosmer. KO doesn’t have a choice now.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I know attention spans are short these days, but people already moving on from McCarthy is wild. The bandwagon crowd blows my mind. Some fans act like young/rookie QBs should come in running a masterclass from day one. JJ’s got it...he just needs time to bake.

The supposition that Brosmer is better is at best unproven. I doubt that KAM/KOC are galaxy-braining things to that extent, in fact I doubt that it's even possible, it's like saying you have a crystal ball and know which qb will look like what. NFL people can't do that or drafting qb's wouldn't be such a total roll of the dice, but people these days love to shit out stupid, conspiratorial takes on everything.

This ^ The issue I have is it contrived? Because I think a good chunk of it is....they don't even believe their own bullshit takes, its just to drive engagement. And then if nothing is real as an opinion, what is it then? Its like a big loony bin on Twitter....everything is a conspiracy. Oh, and octopuses are actually alien life forms living in the ocean. ![]()
