Things that I think...
#1
After watching the debacle at US Bank Stadium, what I think this week...
  • Wentz is definitely not the answer.  If he had a good game yesterday, he could have had us at 3-1 in his tenure.  Instead, it was multiple mistakes.  He has shown flashes, but not enough flashes to be a NFL #1 QB at this stage.  Could that change?  Not for me to judge...it is what it is and my eyes do not deceive.
  • Time for JJM to get healthy and let's see what's under the hood...good or bad.  We're not going to the Super Bowl this year.
  • Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes.  You cannot make that kind of dumb mistakes and win in the NFL.  They don't make up for gaudy numbers elsewhere.
  • Draft day 2024...I was a huge Bo Nix fan.  I still am.  The Broncos got a good young'un.  And they're 5-2, in first in the AFC West.
  • Jalen Redmond...outperforming either Hargrave or Allen.  He's a beast...bull strong.
  • Addison makes Jefferson better...and Addison has great moves and hands.  For those who want us to move on from Addison because of his lapses in judgement...look at the box score from yesterday.
  • Really disappointed in Thielen's performance or even being targeted.  I was hoping for more.
  • Mason should be RB1 when Jones comes off IR.  But I still believe Jones>Scott (although I like Scott's flashes)
  • The KOC QB University continues to prove itself, but it also needs good students. Danny Dimes, Sammy Darnold.  Both with QB rating this season ahead of Mahomes, Goff, Mayfield, Love, Hurts, Stafford, Herbert, Allen and most others...They are sitting at #2 and #3 in that rating for the season to date.
  • Our D is better with Blake Cashman in there.  We held all-world RB Barkley to 44 yards.  We outgained Eagles on the ground.
  • I think it is too early to kick Brandel to the curb at C.  He had never played the position before last week.  He had a glaring snap over the head of 6'5" Wentz...but I think he has more potential at the position than we saw yesterday.  Muscle memory snapping the ball?  None.  Give him time...he could still be a valuable asset with versatility at all five OL positions.  Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
  • Eric Wilson > Ivan Pace Jr, or so it appears
  • I loved BFlo's creativity in stopping the Tush Push.  I guess there's no rule about lining up laying on the ground.  Our D was totally queued up to bark out their OL jumping the snap.
  • It was great to see Dirty Harry getting way more snaps.  He had 4 solo tackles and a TFL
  • Was Hock robbed on that TD?  Looking at the replays (multiple), unfortunately, I think the ref's got that one right...I think.  Could have easily gone the other way too.  The solution?  Don't throw it so far away from your target that he has to make an aerial acrobatic move to snag it.
  • As good as Isaiah Rodgers was against the Bengals, he whiffed multiple times yesterday.  What goes up must come down.

was traveling and didn't get to watch the game. Will have to look for the videos of us stopping the tush push.

After watching the highlights and reading Rodgers comments taking ownership for letting the big plays happen, I wonder if Philly new some of his tendencies and exploited them. On the deep pass at the end, I can hardly fault him. He had to stop the first down, not the deep pass. Good play call, he bit on the stutter because that is where he had to defend.

Redmond is a beast. So quick off the ball. Surprised to see Wilson start over IJP, but not really. IJP has been bad this year, not sure what has happened, maybe he isn't a good fit with Flo. Or teams have a read on his shortcomings.

I will say this regarding the tush push. It is just old school scrum football. They have tight splits and get low. My boy played on a team in Jr Tackle that did this. It was hard to stop. But the way to do it is to get lower and take out the legs of the lineman. Laying on the ground was the best way, not fun, but effective.

Exactly. Everyone talks about the call, but not the fact that Hock was wide open and Wentz sailed the pass.

I said it at the time,  you could see him double catch it live,  something caused him to have to recatch that ball as he rolled over, I assumed it was the ground and unfortunately I was finally right about something.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

This was what was the most frustrating to me. The throw made it harder for Hock. Then there was the intentional grounding. It was really frustrating

Wentz is the second ex-Eagles QB that beat us playing for two different teams, that I know of, the other was McNabb

In TJ's attempt, the ball definitely is moving, I can see the tip move up on it, his body shields most of it, but that was a violent bounce, unlike Kelce's.

Hockenson is less of a game changer and more of a Kyle Rudolph now. Sad.

Wentz had some big moments and the moment didn't feel too big for him, but overall wasn't good. His deep ball seemed especially limp and inaccurate yesterday. Maybe the shoulder? I thought the pass blocking was pretty solid. Definitely serviceable and deserving of a better QB performance.

Reichard was awesome. Nails.

Eric Wilson has been an impact player since the moment he got on the field this year. Good pickup by Kwesi because yeah, Ivan Pace has been a bit lost. Jordan Mason has been a huge get too.

Jailen Nailor and Adam Thielen... Thank God Addison is back.

I incorrectly thought TNF this week was at US Bank, but I saw yesterday it's in LA. Bummer. I'd love to see McCarthy starting but at this point I'm not holding my breath.

Hopefully Wentz can play better this week. I really hope we're able to get Jefferson more involved. It's always the most fun when he and #3 both boom in the same game.
