I don't think that's how KOC thinks....he thinks anytime is a good time to take a shot because it keeps a D on its toes. But when protection is shit like it was against Chicago and JJ making some mistakes in his first game, nothing seems to be that good. But I do hear you about throwing the ball a bit quicker in some instances.

2 years?  He was at Michigan 2 years ago and in the middle of a National Championship run.   That's not mathing for me.

How I think KOC thinks is that if you have 3 downs to go 10+ yards, and instead of trying to get 4 yards, 3 times in a row and having to execute on each of them, he’d rather have three 15 yard pass attempts, and if two of them don’t work, it doesn’t really matter as long as one of them does, and if the longer part of the play is covered too well, it’s a nice bonus to dump it off and keep moving forward.  Then throw in some runs and short passes to keep the defense on their toes.

I think where he’s been lacking, is that sometimes it just doesn’t work, most notably if the OLine isn’t holding up for the QB to feel comfortable with how long the routes take, and he’s shown reluctance to switch strategies.  I really think that ideally, we would marry the traditional KOC play designs, with a run game that can out-physical teams, and a solid set of plays when your OLine isn’t holding up long enough to help them keep moving the ball.  I think last week was a good first step, but I’d like to see it integrated into game plans more frequently.  I’d also like to see some more commitment to running the ball with physicality, including putting an extra lineman out there and just establishing the tone of being physical, even if just for 2-5 plays in a row.  It’d be nice to have confidence that if it’s 1st and goal on the five, that you could score a TD with 3 rushes in a row.

Agree.  At some point he needs to put up or shut up.  If by the end of the year we're not seeing improvement then you go into the off season looking for a new idea.

Danny Dimes was drafted in 2019, Sam Darnold was drafted in 2018. KOC made them better, but they were also older with a ton of starts in the NFL. 
To say JJM has to put up or shut up by the end of the year after starting 2 games is a bit wild. Can QB’s actually develop before giving up on them with less than a full year of starts?

I don't get it, but I think message boards always have a percentage of fans ready pounce on things. Or just throw their hands up quickly on something. The Vikings haven't developed a young QB in a long time and they just happen to have the youngest guy around (22 years old). He's played 2 games. If you take a good look around the NFL, you see some guys regressing that looked really good a year or two ago. There's ebbs and flows. And as you've pointed out, other teams gave up too early on some guys and that is evident now with the players you name. KOC is going to give JJ every opportunity and that will take more than a year for sure to figure out.
