Geno Smith stats from last night/Jeanty
#1
24/43, 180 yards with 0 TDs and 3 INTs. Happens to vet QBs as well.

And Ashton Jeanty, the supposed next 'great' generational RB? 11 carries for 43 yards...he's now averaging 2.7 yards a carry. This guy never blew me away. Where's the great RB from this class that some were fretting about not getting?? Might be Trent Richardson/Ki-Jana Carter territory for Jeanty.

Much like many fans online with JJ McCarthy Wink

Yeah, of course there's a whole season ahead. But when did we wait for generational talent to show itself at RB in the NFL? Never?

Just sayin'.

Rookie RBs starting slow is nothing new. See CMC, Jahmyr Gibbs and Derrick Henry. Raiders are a terrible team. Jeanty carried the ball 11 times and Geno Smith threw it 43 times. That doesn’t fly for any offense.

Also, Jeanty is making rookie mistakes right now in simple handoffs and pass pro. They don't fully trust him yet. Still, after two games, he has more rushing yards than all three of the above did in their first 2 games. Jeanty’s going to be a good one, but it may not happen right away, or even this year.

I'll admit to being surprised so far re: Jeanty...

I honestly expected an AP type entrance to the NFL. And you know what? Thats what we're getting:

AP Rook Season:

Game 1: 11/36 yds
Game 2: 9/27 yds
Game 3: 20/78 yds
Game 4: 14/3 yds

AP didnt blow-up till game 7 when he put 296 on the Chargers - I was at that game!

Week 5 against Chicago.  I think you are looking at those games backwards.  That link has the 12/30 game as #1

TreVeyon Henderson yesterday: 11 carries, 28 yards. 3.4 yard average for the year. O TDs. Jeanty averaging 3.1 yds per game.

Where all the 'great' RBs from this class at??

Honestly, I don't ever remember a RB class where this many rookie RBs are getting meaningful snaps. If only the season were longer than 3 weeks, we might get a chance to see how they play once they know on which side of the QB to take the handoff.

Ha ha, yeah I kid but they do need some more time to see what's what. I'm just being naughty poking the 'we need a RB' crowd during the Draft a bit.

We did. And still do. I'd love a Tuten in place of Akers behind Mason instead of whatever we're getting from Tai Felton. I'd also love a JCM in place of whatever Bartholomew is doing for us.
