What's wrong with building an inexperienced QB's confidence with quick short simple passes to the back or tight end, or a slant, that can be called in quick enough to have time to look over the defensive alignment and not be pressured by the time clock running out? How about getting a couple of those passes to Jefferson and get him involved in the game. Mix in the run, play action, and screens.
JJ had a nice throw to Jefferson before the half but missed Speedy on the long ball. JJ didn't have great long ball accuracy in college but was pretty good with the intermediate throws.
Game planning seemed more suited to Darnold than JJ.

Post of the day!

KOC has got to develop a better sense of how to attack the opponent based on who's playing QB and who we're playing.

His blind spots are really dark at times - and this comes from a space of highly respecting our HC.

There were only two teams that beat us last year.  That’s not a trend.  And using a rookie QB led offense as evidence that we’ve been figured out is suspect. For most teams, I don't think we've been "figured out" ... to the point that teams are going to be routinely shutting down our offense once we get competent QB play. Some teams had the horsepower to overwhelm our OLine last year, but that's not most teams.

And let's face it, those two teams pretty much dominated the Vikings.   The Rams and Lions both and more so in the second games.
