They want to generate talking points, I get it. They will build him up and run with the hype but one bad game and he is a bust again. It is the formula for sports talk

I’m down for the talking points. If you get a few magical super-human type snapshots in everyone’s mind, that goes a long way. Superstars flash early. If you start out mundane and then develop later, it just doesn’t hit the same. Guys like Cousins or Darnold had plenty of superstar caliber games and 4th quarter comebacks for us, but they came from more humble origin stories, so they’re just regular guys with good games, whereas guys like Mahomes, Allen, or Rodgers flashed early and got that superstar label early on and then it sticks with them for their career. Obviously, you can still lose it, like Wilson or Newton, but it goes a long way to flash early.

I actually think the NFL wants JJ to be their media darling. Their next QB to throw everything at. That is what it seems like to me.

Long way to go, but I'm sure the NFL would love to fast track him to market....all of the things mentioned AND his attitude. The death stare of determined dawg he gave the sideline after that 2nd TD to Jones (or the two point conversion) they played on the broadcast was right on point for what they love to show. Especially if he has a flare for the dramatic in pulling out wins. One week at a time, I'm just enjoying the road W.
