FOXSports.com: ‘Calm,’ ‘Hungry,’ ‘Infectious’, ‘Psycho’?: The Sides of JJ McCarthy

It's so hard to quantify...  Get the win is obviously objective one.  I don't really care what his stats look like as long as he looks confident and shows the ability to bounce back from a bad throw, turnover, etc.

I think his resilience will absolutely be tested...

Honestly? I think there would be just as much pressure at home playing the Bears on MNF as there will be playing at Soldier Field.

Biggest thing I remember from reading the article was how he talked about how he thinks. ""People with ADHD, they find calm in the chaos and chaos in the calm," said McCarthy, who was diagnosed with the disorder. "I’ve always felt, ever since I was a kid, just any competitive environment I was in, I felt like I was at home." I think I like someone who can find the calm in the chaos that will be his first real season as a starter.

Pepp is a BIG fan of JJM...I trust his perspective.

Frankly, I'd listen to what any of these 4 had to say about him.

Time to play ball.

Dunno, I thought it was fluff.  McMahon?  Does anyone care what he thinks?  Leaf?

I might listen to Gannon's take.

Might be fluff, but everyone who has met JJ McCarthy in person comes away impressed.  Danae Orlovsky, Culpepper, and other guys that have played in the NFL.  You know that "it factor" that is so hard to describe, but you know it when you see it?  JJ McCarthy has "it".

Does it seem like fluff though? I've read a shit ton of fluff and I don't get that vibe from those that are talking big about McCarthy. I mean, if you're saying everything is fluff because he hasnt thrown a real live bullet in a real live game, ok then its all fluff through that prism. But everyone that is asked understands this is all projection until he plays his first game. Its just easier to say other things than what they are saying. He's got his detractors out there as well, its not all pie and cookies.

Hey, if you can't believe a Dad, who can you believe? j/k Wink "Don't worry, its his playground":
