OT: Well of course the stock is tanking!

Who approved this kind of change? Talk about abandoning key brand assets....

Sheesh.

On Tuesday, the Southern-inspired casual dining chain unveiled a new logo “rooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape,” but without the barrel itself — a central part of the brand’s identity since 1977. (As for the the barrel itself, it was “essentially the water coolers of the day,” Cracker Barrel explained in a blog post.)

Shares of Cracker Barrel (CBRL) nosedived more than 12% in trading Thursday.

The identity refresh also includes new TV commercials, a redesigned menu and several new fall-themed foods, part of a larger $700 million transformation plan to shake off its stodgy image and lure in new diners.

“The way we communicate, the things on the menu, the way the stores look and feel … all of these things came up time and time again in our research as opportunities for us to really regain relevancy,” said CEO Julie Felss Masino in 2024.

As someone that doesn’t live in cracker barrel country and has no affiliation to it at all, that second logo looks like the most cheap and soul-less possible option. That looks like a logo for a kiosk in an airport, where you get a prepackaged, flavorless sandwich, on the go, not a sit down restaurant that is supposed to serve you actual food.

But I do find it interesting, how so many companies in the Hollywood sphere, feel so compelled to take everything people know and love about their brands, eliminate that, and replace it with something different.

Sarcasm? I sure hope so. Companies refresh and modernize their logos all the time. I've done many of these refreshes myself, albeit for companies you likely haven't heard of. I'm doing one now. For example, Walmart has modernized their logo twice in the last 20 years. That this move by Cracker Barrel is controversial, political or somehow an example of "wokeism" is ridiculous.

The things people choose to get all hot and bothered by is out of control. But if you can convince millions of Americans who crave victimization that this is a "woke" move, then you have an army of morons who will cancel Cracker Barrel, just like they did Bud Light. And THAT is what the stock market is reacting to.

It's kind of awesome when the woke movement now wants to disguise itself and say it's not woke. That's the ugliest logo ever, and it appears to add black lettering in place of brown. The fact that you did refreshes helps your argument how exactly?  There would have been many ways to update the logo, but it's all just in our heads that woke people are trying to send a woke message. lol  Your side taught the right all about cancel culture and now you're whining about it.

LOL, look around dude.  No Kings?  Really?  The singing and cussing on social media and protesting in the streets.  People screaming at the top of their lungs, cutting off their hair, burning flags, displaying nazi symbols, accusing every Trump supporter of being fascist, etc.  You guys have lost your f..king minds and you're brilliant enough to post what you just did?  You ask this question seriously?  Really?   Time to go back to your bunker my friend.  lol  You can't make this shit up.

Debate ideas.  Don't call people names.

If it upsets you or makes you sad, you should probably find a support animal or a designated safe space where everybody knows their pronouns and wears their privilege as a badge of honor.

Yep...the Left NEVER demonstrates fragility.

Both sides do it.  Ask Sydney Sweeney and her great jeans.

Has anyone been to a Cracker Barrel in the last 10 years.  Anybody?  Bueller?

Always the victim. Why you don't see through this is beyond me.

So if you think this is a woke move and not just a simple logo modernization that every company does every so often, explain to me how. Does it now appeal more to gays? Trans people? Immigrants? Or is it just a recognition that their clientele is aging and dying off and this just an attempt to tweak their antiquated brand in an attempt to appeal to a wider, younger audience?

Either way, I'm sure "victim" America will now cancel them and start shooting up Cracker Barrel billboards and the company will be forced to change their logo back. Go woke, go broke, right? It will be a great victory for morons everywhere.
