Earlier today I watched the 1969 NFL Championship game where the Viking beat the Browns 27-7 and became the NFL Champs. Then of course, the following year began the era of the Super Bowls. A day late and a dollar short seems to be our calling.

It really wasn't Gary Anderson's fault.....if Robert Smith would have stayed in bounds on a few runs or if Robert Griffith intercepts the easiest pass instead of dropping it in the endzone, Minnesota is in the Superbowl. Chandler threw it RIGHT TO HIM....gently.....and he dropped it. I'll never rewatch that game, being there live was bad enough.

It's never news, but it always hurts.
I feel strongly, though, that when the curse lifts...and I'm admitting that the near future looks bright...the Vikings will be making up for some lost time in a big way. This offseason finally addressed some long-standing issues, and that kind of "change" is exciting to a cynical purple person.
Wishing a great season for the team, Especially Mundt and Kwenkeu!
