The vibe and reading-between-the-lines in Indy reveal its Daniel Jones and no looking back. Richardson has giant bust stenciled in on him currently. He's got a nagging injury, which is also concerning for the franchise. Next year is the last year on his rookie contract. The rumor was that Minnesota and KOC really liked Richardson, not sure what the case is now. Is he a candidate for KOC University in the future? Would he be interested in that if JJM becomes what we hope he will?
Mistakes continue to be made by NFL teams with the #1 pick in the overall Draft. Is Tennessee next with Cam Ward? I tell you, the 2024 NFL QB Draft might go down as one of the best ones in NFL history.

That was the rumor, but who really knows? And yeah, I'm sure KOC can be wrong. I also heard that the QB KOC wanted was Daniels, not Maye.

Sure, he can be wrong, but if Richardson were our QB, would he have even started yet? Richardson was a projection pick, a clear developmental guy, the 2nd youngest player in NFL history to ever start a season opener.
We can't assume KOC would've made the same mistake as the Colts and started him day one. In fact, I think we can pretty safely say that KOC would not have started Richardson at all in 2023. We still had Cousins then too, so there would not have been a need to start him right away.

I was hot on Richardson after watching him flick 70 yard passes with seeming little effort at the underwear olympics.
But the Colts do not posses a QB University.
He would have benefitted from staying in school one more year.

I think a lot of it depends on how you feel about him sort of “quitting” on his team. I think for a lot of people that was a deal breaker. From a transactional perspective, bringing in a low cost QB and flipping them for a $15M+ contract is never a bad thing and getting the comp pick. That said, he wouldn’t count towards the comp pick unless you picked up his 5th year option. I’d trade a 4th for him this offseason to replace Rypien and hope you could trade him again to a team that would start him before his 5th year option kicked in.

Watched him at Florida a number of times. Absolutely tragic he declared early. Rawer than sushi.

Thats how I feel about Milroe as a passer.
I would bet a lot that this is AR's last year in Indy.

Milroe is WAY more raw as a passer than Anthony Richardson....he makes sashimi look deep fried.

Normally I really don't like these, "well we'd have done it better though!" takes but in this case you are spot on.
I'm sure our new O-lineman have plenty of thoughts on the matter but at least from the outside as a fan-- Indy threw him out there way too soon and quite literally ran him into the ground. You'd think maybe they'd have learned something from Andrew Luck. Guess not.
Richardson would have been Sam's backup for at absolute bare minimum the first half of the season, 90% the whole season. And if by some chance he played, our coach wouldn't have been calling run plays for him like he's a fullback.
Indianapolis isn't the Jaguars but man if not for Peyton Manning, they've had some ugly seasons.
