The National Media Disrespect Is Maddening

Not sure if they are regarding JJM as a soph. He is usually regarded more as a redshirt freshman, so the comparison isn't quite apples to apples. All five of these dudes took snaps from center in a regular season NFL game.

I get the crabby as it pertains to disrespect for the Vikings as a team, but JJM has gotta still earn his.

He certainly does, but they listed five of the 6 first round QBs...  including Penix who had 3 starts last year.  I could see listing Daniels, Nix, and Williams since they all started from Day 1. Otherwise just list em all, JJ McCarthy is clearly going to be the Vikings starter this season.

This shit actually pisses me off. If JJ was in this draft, he would have been the number 1 pick, and it wouldn't have been close.

Out of sight, out of mind with the sports media. It doesn't surprise me. Its also a really good contrarian take to have out there if they hit on it....if they don't, its just a 'where Colin was wrong' segment and he can talk about how 'the tall Sean McVay' does it again. Win-win and the engagement is still there. Only Dan Orvlosky loves every NFL player.

Seems a little odd to me that these were the same people telling us that the Vikings were, by far, the best destination for any of these QBs. They were saying this before Sam Darnit became the goddamn Ginger Jesus in this system. Darnold's season only confirmed what they (and we) already knew: that KOC and his offense and these weapons are very good for QBs. But never mind all that. JJ who?

This is the same guy who said

"Baker Mayfield won’t succeed in the NFL"
"Lamar Jackson can’t play quarterback"
"The Warriors made a mistake drafting Steph Curry"
"Josh Rosen is the next Troy Aikman"
"Johnny Manziel will be great in the NFL"

We good

It's not a new story. Even back in the 80s and 90s, the Vikings would get rated near or at the bottom of the division...even coming off a playoff run.

It's not fair or right, but it's likely inevitable until the curse gets broken. I'm all for taking that step!
Build on 14-3, take back the NFCN, break the ****ing curse. Simple.

Media, social media, other guys on the message board, all saying good or bad things about the team doesn't matter. All that matters is what they do on the field next fall. The rest is noise. It's just opinions and we all have them, just like we all have, well you know the line. I wouldn't spend 1 second being worked up about it either way. JMO.
