Rodgers visiting the Steelers today
#11
Rumors on KFAN that vikings/Rodgers actually had a clandestine meeting...Take if FWIW, may not be much.

IF he doesn't sign with Pitt:
1). He may wait it out and see if a team needs him during TC or during the season.
2). Or just retire

I still think it's interesting we haven't signed a QB yet. Why would that be when our QB room essentially consists of a rookie with zero NFL starts (McCarthy) and a guy who is probably more CFL material than NFL (Rypien). I really like McCarthy and think he has incredible talent, but Rodgers (like him or not) probably gave us the better chance at winning it all for this upcoming season. Instead, they've chosen to make this upcoming season more about the development of JJ McCarthy, which is fine long term, but when you have a legitimate shot at winning it all you take that swing and if McCarthy wilted at having to be the backup for a year behind Rodgers, than he was never the guy we hoped he'd be anyways. In KOC we trust and hope he played it right for 2025.

Yep, don't doubt either of those at all. KOC knows Rodgers, its not like they aren't humans and can't talk. Rodgers has been an amazing QB in his career, I don't think anyone can say anything different. I get the due diligence. I just don't think Rodgers is that guy anymore. And I think after further processing of that due diligence, keeping JJM another year away from first team reps, and understanding that Rodgers isn't going to be any kind of mentor, the answer is easy and obvious. We wouldn't be getting 36 year old Rodgers, we'd be getting soon to be 42 year old Aaron Rodgers. Hard pass.

Well if Rogers feels jilted by the Vikings... it works out for him that we play in Pitt this year if he wants one last shot at us.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

We beefed up our D-line. I don't think he wants anything to do with us unless it's to be our QB. And it doesn't sound like that's happening.

Would have been a mistake signing Rodgers. Its always fun to read the 'inside the building' sources by all the 'reporters' out there in the big ol' world. "Its 50-50" Dianna Russini said....lmao. They wanted "Darnold" they said.....JJM isn't 'gaining weight' and there's 'questions about his knee' they squawked. There are going to 'wait and possibly revisit' Rodgers they just said.

If KOC wanted ANYTHING to happen, any one of those could and would have. By now. Done deal. But that isn't what has happened, is it? What happened is exactly what O'Connell said was going to happen many MONTHS ago. But that isn't much fun for the Twitterheads and all of those necessary clicks and views necessary to monetize the whole greasy sports cycle. I have zero doubt there were conversations and due diligence, but that's a lot different that what has been said. Rodgers is an enigma, he does his own thing. Nobody will change that.

Agreed.  You don't build the culture like KOC has carefully done and then implode it by bringing in the worst drama queen in the NFL.
