I probably watched parts of 3 games last year due to Clark. That’s 3 more in the entire existence of the league. Go ahead and strike. Page 4 of the sports page needs filler.

In 2024, the WNBA is projected to lose $40 million, notes the New York Post. This is due in part to a $25 million increase in charter flight costs.

Viewership is up, attendance is up too...

The avg WNBA salary is $120k vs 11.9mm for NBA

WNBA isnt my jam at all, but I suspect there is some room for the players to get a little more in the bag. Whether they have any leverage is debatable.

Have to love these "student" athletes who "graduate" from college, but can't make a grammatically correct sentence. She has quickly become one of the most dislikable athletes in sports. There was never any competition between her and Clark, two completely different levels of talent.

I watched a few games this past year at work. Only because a guy here is a huge Clark fan. When I say I watched, I was usually paying attention to what was going on with my equipment and listening, occasionally looking at the TV behind me.
I thought the whole league hating Clark was one of those fake storylines to generate interest. It did, I guess. He’s asked everyone if they want to go to Indy or Chicago to see a game. We’ve all said no.

If the league is losing money, not sure giving more money to the players is the answer. Its not popular, but it had an uptick last year with Clark. The charter flights were a new thing with the league either last year or the year before as the players demanded that they get it because the men do.....although ownership knew it would cut greatly into slim profits. Websites like ESPN have gone way out of their way to promote women's basketball by showcasing it on their website ahead of mens'. If women are so into how 'unequal' it all is why don't more women watch the WNBA? Support it? Its not up to men to do it, they watch what they want. Its not good basketball compared to men's bball.

Now take women's tennis: its higher rated on TV than men's. The play is very good. Its a very good watch if you like tennis. Men watch it. Its about the quality of product, not the sex of the product.

Angel Reese is a biatch.
The reason the Lynx traded down is because Coach didn't want her on the team.

When it comes to sports it sure does matter. If it were sex only in sports, the Lingerie Football League would be the most popular game in town.

Bottom line: the WNBA was barely supporting itself before Caitlin Clark. And I mean barely. Not sure where all the entitlement came from from Reese....because they've lost money this last season with the most popular player in WNBA history (Clark).
