The Last Time We Acquired An Allen It Worked Out

This.

Doogie: "This guy wants to play here!"
Real reporter: "Vikings think he's hot trash, pass."

I’d take him over Bullard if the dollars are right.

Sounds like a fallback option if we can't land Milton Williams. To me though the Eagles scheme makes players better than they actually are. See Javon Hargrave just a couple years ago. So if we are backing up the Brinks truck for Williams, I hope they are damn sure they know what they are getting. I'd almost prefer landing Allen on a cheaper deal as I think there is less risk.

Hargrave was in a different scheme, pre-Fangio so I think that’s a moot point. Lining up with Carter and to a lesser extent Davis is a little more impactful than scheme.

That being said, lines will have to be concerned with Ginks and Greenie. If we get any sustained pressure from the interior, those guys will feast. Plus Turner year 2 should start having consistent impact. We fix the interior and we can sign CBs in summer again and probably replicate last year’s performance.

Beat me to it..With our Edge rotation? Adding a pass rusher in the middle could have a significant impact...

I'd love to sign Milton, a corner (or 2) and go BPA in draft.

Yes, different schemes, just meant that players seem to have success in Philly, get paid, and don't seem to replicate that same success elsewhere. Williams played in 16 games last year and had half a sack total, so if he is indeed the probable priority the tweet alludes to, I just hope the Vikings are sure about him. You are 100% correct that who he lined up with along that line likely also played a role in his success. I think I'd probably have more interest in Allen on a cheaper deal.

Fix everything crucial before the draft and add the next Chuck Foreman.
