Limited market for Darnold?

So what are we talking? 10, 20, $30 a year?
I’m not opposed to him coming back on a reasonable deal.

I think I would rather have Dimes in the room with JJM this year. But either of them would be workable for a 1 year.
Sam looking for more than that, I hope he gets it from some team. FA getting pretty close now. We can end the speculation soon.

What's limited? No, he's not going to get $50M, which I suppose means limited. But I'd be pretty surprised if he didn't at least get $35M. He's by far the best free agent QB on the market. There are roughly six teams that don't have a starter. And the draft class is shit at QB.

I just don't want to let Darnold walk for free. It is unlikely we get a comp pick next year if we are aggressive in FA this year. There should be interest in Darnold. Extend him, or franchise him if necessary, but don't give him up for nothing. The notion that there is no market for a trade is BS.

I dont either but I am losing faith it'll happen. And it probably wont because the Vikings front office didnt try like hell to get something. They (Vikings) wont franchise Sam w/out a solid deal in hand. I am also getting the feels that they are ready to move to JJM this season, which I am cool with. Steelers have been quiet, that would be a great land spot for Sam.

His deal is going to be a lot closer to Mayfield’s deal than what Love, Dak, or any of the other recent contracts. Would love me some Good Value Josh Allen on a deal similar to what Darnold had. Maybe a 2 year version in case he has the opportunity to flourish in OSFWQBs.

I would be surprised to see a tag on Darnold. I have a feeling Darnolds camp was already told as such.

Darnold has the huge benefit of this being one of the weakest QB draft classes in years as well as free agency. I would think Darnold is one of the best if not the best option for a team needing a QB. While Darnold didn't play for USC while Carroll was there, the ties with the University run deep and could see there being a connection there. Carroll's teams do not rely on a dominant QB, but are centered around defense and the run game, so could see Darnold being a good fit there in not having everything on his shoulders. The Rams would have been his best fit, but with the Raiders he would have Brady guiding him. I could also see the Browns, Giants and Colts being interested. Contrary to this article, I think he is going to do extremely well.
