I guess UDFA is not surprising since there's just more of them, but I am surprised the 2nd round beats the 1st round. Wonder if it has to do with the dozens of QB busts taken at the top of the draft who contribute nothing at all.

They always say there’s 10-20 first round talent players each year and then not a ton of difference between the next 50 players. Typically the good teams aren’t getting those blue chips but they obviously are identifying the best in the next 50.

UDFA as a category shouldn't be surprising to anyone that they are on this list as look from a volume perspective that the amount is high for UDFA: quantity is the reason. Each team gets to see a LOT more UDFA running around their fields in May/June and in training camp than they 3rd, 4th and 5th round draft picks. Intangibles are high for UDFAs...also they are CHEAP. Roster fillers to help manage that cap space.
