I hate award shows, would never watch 5 seconds of one live, but why the hell is 'Coach < Prime' up there w/Bill giving away the NFL Coach of the Year award?? And the walk up rock music as KOC is getting to the stage, lmao. Although this was hilarious:

Everyone knew Sam was the comeback player of the year and the AP voters should've just said fuck the rules, I'm going with what I really think. Duteous twits.

WalterFootball.com Awards

M.U.P. (Most Unimportant Player) – Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Cowboys
It took Jerry Jones and Mike McCarthy nearly the entire season to realize that Elliott was a complete waste. Dallas released Elliott, and the team was predictably more efficient offensively without the old running back.

Perseverance Award – Sam Darnold, QB, Vikings
Darnold failed in multiple spots around the league and looked like a complete bust. He could have quit football like Josh Rosen or Jake Locker, but he continued to work hard and believe that he could be a successful starter in the NFL.

“I Don’t Belong in the NFL” Award – Daniel Snyder, Redskins
Perhaps it’s not fair to give Daniel Snyder the “I Don’t Belong in the NFL” Award when he’s not even in the NFL anymore, but it’s Daniel Snyder, so it should be OK. In his first year away from the team, the Redskins advanced to the NFC Championship.

Regarding Sam's future, it's a whole bunch of saying nuthin...Which is exactly what I expect of them right now.

Its not hard to read in between the lines that Sam will be moving on, just a question of tag opportunity or not.

Kudos to Sam and KOC for making the most of the situation they were thrown into together.

I love that Sam has earned the right in the league as a PB QB...I think KOC is truly happy for him. Players remember stuff like that.

It seems like the org is pretty, pretty sure KOC will get the most out of a JJM too.

The Vikings, in their 65 year history as an NFL franchise, has had a head coach named Coach of the Year twice now.
The only other time? Bud Grant in 1969 I believe

This is code for KOC to give props to Sam, while not committing to him AT ALL for next season.
The door is completely open, not only to JJM but also Daniel Jones to get a look.

I'm reading some reporter from Detroit quoted KOC wrong when he was actually talking about Jefferson and not Darnold. So looks like a whole bunch of nothing.

I think that is damage control. If you insert Jefferson, none of it makes sense. Once again, everything KOC says is past tense. How happy I WAS to be beside him. Not how happy I AM. That is a big one. Zero chance he will be back. With how Daniels did, Nix, Maye, Williams (although the team around him sucked) I would bet we want to get JJ on the field even more. If you believe that you have your franchise QB, I feel they do feel that way, then you move forward with JJ. We all saw who Darnold was, yeah, he won us some games, but our defense needs credit for a few as well. We all saw his floor come up and slap him right in the face when it mattered the most. His floor is scary, and I don't want a QB that every week you will be looking for it to come bite us.
