Wonder whats happening with Kwesi?

Sure, but depending on what happens with Darnold, we could very well be in a position where neither 2024 FRP, both of whom we traded up for, are starting players in year 2. That doesn't mean they're bad, you just really hope they're worth the wait and the resources at that point. I think both will be, but it will be nice once we know for sure.

I've waited to really give an assessment on KAM and his drafting alone should give pause. It's brutal. I think he's learning on the job which is usually detrimental to a personnel department. But to act like he's working solely on analytics and not listening to his scouting department is silly. Hitting on Draft picks is the name of the game, regardless of how many you do or don't have. He's been good in free agency, which we will obviously need for him to continue doing sans young draft talent.

Obviously his extension talks have some roadblocks or he would have signed already. His environment needs some pressurization and that's where he is from this day forward.

I give KAM a pass on the first draft(22), new team, _onatell, and I'll assume the core of Zimmer and Spielman's scouting staff.  In 23 Addison and Blackmon, 24 JJ, Turner, Jackson, Rouse, Reichard, Jurgens and LDR.  So from my optimistic view point, he's had two totally owned drafts, and their both TBD. I am still optimistic that he is learning and would hate to loose what he gained from those lessons

2023 is yet to be fully decided after Blackmon's ACL, but it's probably above average. Blackmon was the 12th corner taken that year but finished with the 3rd highest PFF grade in coverage and the highest run defense grade among all defensive players drafted. So there's some legit reason for hope there. Jordan Addison was the last of a four WR run with Smith-Njigba, Johnston, Flowers going ahead of him. In all redrafts I've seen, Addison goes 1st.

The big feather in Kwesi's cap is the ROI on the 2024 free agent class. He'll get extended, but if there's a sticking point it might be the division of responsibilities after the Wilves gave KOC "more say" in personnel decisions, whatever the hell that means.

Has it been reported that KOC is getting more say in personnel decisions?

I don't think it's been verified, but it has been reported. Who really knows in today's media landscape.

Nothing official...I think some of that is pure speculation with the KAM extension not being finalized.

It hasn't. I read about a week or so ago that it was rumored KOC had more say in personnel and then I read yesterday that was not the case, lol. Who really knows is right.

Would guess when it all comes out that he will have final say over the 53 and be very involved in players coming in.

When has giving a head coach final say on roster moves ever worked out for an NFL team? I get the whole Parcells, "if you want me to make the dinner, at least let me shop for the groceries" argument, but it never works out. Coaches need to coach and KOC has things he needs to work on himself in that realm this offseason. The good teams him figured him out and he needs to do a much better job of making adjustments and not keep trying to hammer the same shit down the other teams throats.

I'll tell you the first thing that Kwesi should do though is get rid of Ryan Grigson and stop taking his advise and input on player evaluations. That would be a good start in changing our draft day misfortunes
