Greenberg: Vikings should trade McCarthy
#21
(Yesterday, 03:22 PM)MaroonBells Wrote: He hasn't been THIS kind of off. I remember he sailed a pass to Hockenson on the sideline a couple games ago. I think it was in Seattle. I can remember a few other inaccurate passes recently. But nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing all QBs don't occasionally do before they settle in. Just a week before the Detroit game he threw for 400 yards, 3 TDs and had a 77% completion percentage against what was, at the time, the hottest defense in the NFL. You don't do that if you're not throwing with accuracy.  Up until the Lions game, he had TWO bad games, the Jags and the Jets. One average game (the recent Bears game). But every other game--13 of 'em--he was exceptional.

The Detroit game was an entirely different animal. We haven't seen shit like that all year. He never settled in. He was high and outside on nearly all of his passes.

My fear is that the game, when they matter, are just too big for him. Mondy Night should tell us a lot more.

I think we satisfied the football gods by giving them the most "Viking" stat ever: the only team in NFL history to be a 14-win wild card team. Satiated, they should now leave us (and Sam) alone to beat the Rams.

This this is starting to pick up a lot of steam Pat McAfee said the same thing

if you can get a second and a third round draft pick for him, which is questionable,  the Vikings would do it in heartbeat

Dude, we are not trading JJ for a 2nd and 3rd round pick. Are you just here to start shit? Zero chance we will trade him for that shit package you said. KOC loves JJ. They wouldnt do that at all. Not even close. Here is the thing, go pour yourself a bowl of dog food and leave the real talk to men.

Yeah, seems like that time of year for a few new trolls to enter the chat. 'Skinny and fragile', lmao. The timing is always interesting. Wink Ben Leber mentioned yesterday that JJ is light on purpose as many doctors believe that helps in recovery of knee issues, he'll look much different come June.

You can see the landscape: had a few fans that howled when Korko left......you'll have the Sammy stans that'll bitch if he leaves....and now JJ McCarthy haters because he 'hasn't proven anything'.....always something for a few. The Vikings have complete control of their QB situation: whatever direction they go, I'll get behind. But to anyone with a brain, trading McCarthy isn't something Minnesota would logically do. I'm just curious if anyone thinks KOC is going to tie his career to a guy that shit the bed like Sammy did Sunday night? The answer is, IMO, a lot is riding on Monday night for Darnold and his future with Minnesota.

You sure the Vikes wont have to throw in a 4th amd 6th to get that deal done?  Come on,  use some logic and ask yourself why JJM would devalue that much in 1 season,  answer is he wouldnt,  his value is much more now than last year and no GM that gave up a first and an additional pick for a QB is going to give him away after only 1 non playing season,  hell hes worth more than what you posted just as a cheap backup if Darnold were retained.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

JJM is KOC's hand picked QB. He's not being traded.

I am guessing we will have to throw in Addison as well to get a team to bite on it.
