Can't help but wonder...

Would the Giants have been better off with JJM/Penix or Nix instead of Neybah?

Then again, they may be bad enough to draft one of the top Qb's in 25.

Probably, but I'm glad as all hell that they passed on JJ.

For sure, but the Giants probably thought hey, we'll build our defense and weapons to get one last look at Daniel Jones.  If he doesn't show it, then we'll be picking high with a better surrounding cast for their freshly drafted 2025 rookie QB.  Also, next year it's much easier from a cap perspective to move in from Jones.

In a word... YES
In 2 words... Absolutely YES

They fucked up when they extended Jones ( he never really looked the part ) and they doubled down on stupid when they had a top 10 pick and didnt make a move in what will likely show to be the deepest QB talent draft in 20 years. The smart move would have been to let Jones play out his rookie deal and then use a tag if they wanted 1 more year... now they are stuck with shit in hand and an empty cupboard.

When the guys career MO is inconsistency and poor decision making, but you sign him to a massive extension based on one good year...you get what you get.

In fairness to Jones, the Giants have never gotten their offensive line right. Former top 10 pick Evan Neal is an afterthought as a backup, and they literally have no playmakers outside Nabers. They let their best player in Saquan Barkley sign with a division rival. The Giants are just a total mess and will absolutely be in the running for the top overall pick in 2025.
