This really is amazing...especially when you consider Justin Jefferson isn't one of them.

The Vikings have had some GREAT players in their history on both sides of the football. Too many for a team that's never won a Super Bowl.

Had to look it up because I could only name 3 of them, but yeah, this franchise has had some amazing skill position players over the years. Unfortunately none of them are quarterbacks which is a huge reason we've never won a Super Bowl.

Chuck Foreman is really one of the most underrated Vikings (and NFL players) ever. He really changed the position of running back more than any other player with his ability to catch the ball. Really a lot of offensive concepts employed currently and taken for granted came out of the Vikings employing schemes that took advantage of Chuck's unique abilities. IMHO, he impacted the game in a way few players have.
If you really think about it, the Vikings have had three offensive players that really broke the mold: Tark, Chuck and Moss.

Barring a miraculous set of OTAs and camp, I don't see JJM getting enough plays to qualify this season. I have to believe that Darnold is going to fight like a rabid badger for his last real chance to start, and he's got all the tools plus real NFL experience; JJM would need to exceed all expectations to overcome that.
I'm all for them giving KOC a headache in having to choose between two impressive QB options, however.

I think Chicago drafted a couple guys who should be in the running for OROY (Williams/Odunze) or ROY (Williams).
I hope Turner is someone we're talking about in December for DROY consideration.

We've had our share of downs too,
Troy Williamson, Laquon Treadwell, Christian Ponder

After working his way to being one of the best red-zone QBs in the league in 2012, the loss of Harvin and the decline of our OL (which would be a story for the following decade) basically ruined him. He went from working to keep plays alive to tucking and running after 2 seconds, because he was used to not having much more time than that. He was right, all too often. Retreads like Greg Jennings didn't help all that much. I'm not saying he was some blue-chip, inevitable HOF QB...but he was lucky to have 2.5 seconds to get a play off, when we'd regularly see the Bradys and Rodgers' of the league scanning the field for 4-5+ seconds in seeming luxury. We looked like we had no idea "how to offense", just an embattled QB and an all-pro RB who was saying/doing increasingly dumbass things all the way to his suspension, release, and time as a pass-around. Going from Frazier, who couldn't rally the troops, to Zimmer, who only could seem to rally defense, didn't do the kid any favors. Hopefully, he and Sam are happily raising their kids with the knowledge that Christian has been spared years of additional CTE.

They followed that move with Justin Fields. The Vikings have distinguished themselves with the # of exemplary OROY's vs every other front office. We can find some happy in that

Christian Ponder was done before he entered the NFL and wasn’t even on my draft board because of his shoulder injury. Ponder the year before his injury looked every bit the part of an NFL starter. The problem was his arm strength didn’t return after the surgery. I always wondered if Rick fell in love with him the year before and just counted on his arm magically coming back.
