based on somebodies mock draft.... assuming we take a QB in round 1, do we double down on late day 2 or early day 3 and take another raw QB prospect?
I liked the concept, but IMO unless we are ready to say no on Hall, do we really have room for 4 QBs on the roster, assuming we sign a veteran to start the season or more? I dont think it would be prudent to try and have 3 young guys in camp, even with a solid veteran bridge QB, seem that would put a lot of pressure on the position coach and OC to get them coached up to the point of really being able to evaluate them before you have to try and stash one on the practice squad.
If we move on from Kirk and cut Hall then sure, fire an extra bullet. If the QB room is Minshew (?), Rookie, Rookie, then let's roll. But if we keep Kirk or Wilson, I'm not sure developing 2 QBs behind them is practical. One will be running the scout team or getting 3rd team reps, and the value of those is dubious when you can probably get a quality-ish RB or WR for that same draft cost.

So I'm seeing Jayden Daniels getting knocked a bit for lack of arm strength?
And as the microscope is pulled out, the warts starting coming into focus. He doesn't throw with a lot of velocity IMO. I think he's more of a touch thrower. You don't see a lot of those 15-20 yard rockets that you see so much in Nix and McCarthy's game, but he's got plenty of deep arm from what I've seen.
After all his success w/ the Mighty Might QB in Arizona, I think da Bears is a great place for old Kliffy to land… B)

And they should. He's the best prospect in this upcoming class. Chicago is going to end up trading Fields, one way or the other....this year or the next. Fields is only 24 years old, somebody is going to give him another significant shot to be the guy. And if the Bears didn't have the lock to get Williams, they might have given Fields another year for sure in a real way. You can't be the team to pass on Caleb Williams. And I can't imagine the Bears would trade him (Fields) to a NFCN rival like Minnesota.
p.s. Carolina fucked up HARD. That's beyond debate.

I agree that the Bears are likely going to take Williams. But think about this. (And yes I'm aware the Bears aren't likely to trade Williams to the Vikings).
Someone recently figured the Bears would get the Vikings' 1st and 2nd rounder for the next two seasons in a trade back to 11. No clue how close that comp is, but I don't think it's far off.
So you're the Bears and you kinda think Fields might have a future and you're worried about Williams "baggage." Do you take Williams and trade Fields for a day two pick? Or do you keep Fields and build around him a formidable team with two top 11 picks this year, two 1sts, two 2nds next year, and two 1sts and two 2nds the following year?
Something to think about.
There is no way on earth I would trade even 1 additional first alone for Williams. We will get a good QB at 11.

Using the Trey Lance trade as a measuring stick, Chicago will get three ones plus in a trade for that No. 1 pick.
